PTC malware threat
« on: January 21, 2018, 10:30:54 am »
The last 2 or 3 times I have clicked on a sponsor's ad to do my 15 cent PTC, my Avast has detected malware. This is very unusual for Fusioncash, I don't believe I've ever had it happen before. Anyone else getting this too? Thank goodness for anti-virus and Avast!

Today I clicked on a different sponsor than I usually do and it still happened. It also happened when I did my daily email sponsor code. So I sent FC a ticket about it.

I always pick the same sponsor, so nothing changed.

I've never had that problem... are your virus definitions up to date? sometimes that can be the problem.. otherwise I'd wait and see support says

I've never had that issue.  No matter which sponsor page I go to ( I use them all ), there has never been a problem.

Did you update your computer and increase the protection level?  Of course you want to protect your device but if the security is set too high, most anything may set off a red flag.

Maybe you could try a different browser.  My computer has Firefox and Safari.  I don't care much for Safari but I love Firefox.  Anyway, I tried something today: I opened up Safari and went to a website that I know has never been a problem with malware.  When I opened a link on the site, the page opened but I also got a warning that there was a possible virus threat.  I logged off of the site and closed that browser.

Then I did the exact same thing in Firefox; the same website, the same link and not a problem at all.  Safari gets a little weird like that for some reason.

Yes, actually I did so it is possible it is more sensitive. It's also possible that I was getting this malware all along before I upgraded and just never knew it. It's still giving me credit for visiting the pages though, there's just nothing to see on the page.

Oh man, yes have got this one many times, and it's so annoying. I have got it on the Yahoo site when I click to read a news story. At first, it very much worried me, and I thought the only way to get rid of it was to restart my laptop. But now I've figured out there is a way to close it out.

I have been getting the same thing lately too.  I have had stuff from Fusion Cash blocked in the past.  I would trust your Anti-virus, it is not worth screwing up your computer for a penny or two

I have had other things happen, but never this. However, I use AVG and not Avast.

I agree. I still get credit for the click, but Avast blocks it from loading. So hopefully no harm done.

I used to use AVG for a very long time, then it started messing up and a local internet guy here recommended Avast, so when I got my laptop, I went with it.
