china owns it
we alll just live here haha
Let me think. China makes the majority of our clothing, dishes, crops, products, etc. Since we rely on other countries so much, they can send anything over here they can harm Americans. I wonder if the government requires people to check the imports from other countries. I think not. I mean, do you remember when China was sending us toys with lead, tainted clothes, etc.? Why can't America be as productive as other countries in education, occupation, creation, manufacturing, enhancement, etc. Notice the majority of things we use aren't made in America?
The major manufacturing centers are in union labor controlled areas in America. The rest of the country isn't going to pay the costs associated with union labor to buy things made this way. An automobile manufactured in America has to be financed over a period of years largely because the cost of the labor to produce it. We can't finance everything else we have to buy just so we can keep jobs [union jobs] in this country.
Unions add another layer of needless cost and bureaucracy to a business. These costs are passed on to you the consumer. You, the consumer, doesn't wish to pay $50 for a hammer when you can buy one of the same quality made in another country for $10.00. We rail against Big Business for selling us products made out of this country, but never direct an anger at the people that drove those jobs out in the first place. Unions and their bedfellows Big Government. Things like Social Security, Medicare, Workman's Comp, Handicapped parking spaces, handicapped restrooms, 40 hours per work week, family medical leave, health insurance and let's not forget the 35% corporate tax all add costs to the products produced in the US. The US government also imposes taxes on revenue generated outside of the border by companies based in the US.
Products produced elsewhere do not have these costs and therefore the profit margins are higher and the cost to the consumer is much lower. The confiscatory taxation coupled with the exorbitant pay rates and work rules from unions is what drove manufacturing jobs out of America. But you have been led to believe it was all evil intentions by Big Business that did it. You were told this lie by the very people who benefit from the taxation.....Big Government and Big Unions.
If we really wanted to change the status quo and make the US the world's greatest tax haven and once again where the world goes to first for manufacturing we have to simply stop taxing all income no matter where its earned. Getting rid of the progressive income tax system would remove the tax component that is in every business decision made in the country. Businesses would expand and hire people for the sole reason of more profits and not whether what they do will raise the costs of doing business. The currently 10 to 15 trillion dollars invested offshore to escape current income taxation would come back to this country in a matter of months. Unemployment would go down to 3 percent because all all the need for people to work in the manufacturing jobs in the US.
How quickly can this be done? Within a year after passage of the Fair Tax. The Fair Tax is a national retail sales tax paid out only at the point of sale on new goods and services. Used goods pay no tax. Income would no longer be taxed in any form, be it business or personal income. The tax base would be expanded to 23% of the 10 trillion dollars of commerce that occurs in America. Anyone who buys anything at the retail level would pay into the tax coffers. It wouldn't matter if they were here legally or not.
The first thing we have to do is fire those people who stand in the way of its passage this November 2010 and then elect a president who will sign the bill into law in 2012. In other words fire the Big Government types and hire the ones who will pass the Fair Tax.
