Yes I went to one yesterday.  Got a light spring jacket for $5 (half price) and another for the same.

Thrift store in my local town voted best In Minnesota .... go figure !! in a little drink water town of about 2,600 people where MPLS is 2 million plus   (must be the water)

My town in southwestern Minnesota is roughly twice as big as your local town , sbenkoski.
We have two second hand stores.

One is a clothing consignment store; the other has household items as well as clothing which proceeds go to charity.

I do like shopping at thift stores.

I buy clothing you can find some really good finds specially with the clothing for children and how fast they outgrow the stuff. I have found some good furniture finds too.

I purchase all of my leisure shirts from Good Will and the Salvation Army and do not think that I have ever spent more than four dollars. I also like the idea that my money is going to help the less fortunate. My five rotating dress shirts for work come from Costco. At eighteen dollars they are hard to beat because they do not need to be  ironed and are pretty stain resistant. Nobody knows the difference in either case. I usually only buy a pair of  Levi's jeans and a pair of Ralph Lauren shorts every two to three years. I do not consider this an extravagance because they are worn every single day and proven their durability. My son is doing some community service for the Salvation Army over the next few weeks. I am thinking he will come home with bundles of clothes.

I can't remember the last time I shopped at a thrift store but I enjoy going when I do. I bought a nice winter coat for $3 at one before. I've bought shorts, shirts, and jeans before. Never bought underwear, purses, and bathing suits, or bra's. :)

I love going to thrift stores to buy bulky sweaters for winter. I can get name brands and I can get many of them for the price.

I enjoy thrift stores because you can find really nice things some even brand new with tags on them.  I will be donating some soon.

Yes I agree Thrift stores are awesome.  With that said I never go to them because I would just find something I like but don't need -  I just moved and had tons of stuff to get rid of that belonged to my deceased mom, deceased husband, myself and two sons.  I declared that we were going to keep this new house as clutter free as possible.  Some people can do it but I would just buy trinkets and knick knacks stuff I don't need.
