April Blizzard
« on: April 14, 2018, 12:26:25 pm »
Another blizzard is raging!  The Minnesota Department of Transportation has closed All of southwest Minnesota roads.

Yesterday, straight line winds took down 60-70 power line poles which put many small towns out of electricity.  Some towns are going to be out for several days.  The wind also drove a 2x4 into a barn roof on an acreage just outside of town.

We were in the 80's couple days ago; yesterday cold and windy with tornado warnings off and on most of the night.  Today even colder and calling for 30's tonight.  Thought Spring had sprung but guess she did a quick retreat.

I'm supposed to be flying to Minneapolis Monday I wonder if the flight will be cancelled.  Glad I don't live there.  I enjoyed 80's this weekend but tomorrow supposed to be rainy and colder.

Wisconsin has been, and is still, being hit by this.

The wind has been wicked, and thought the tree outside my window was going to break through.

We had weird hail storm Friday, freezing rain all night Friday, and then Saturday was rain, freezing rain, and then today a blizzard.

The snow would not be so bad, but the icy surface under it is dangerous. I park in an apt. bldg. pkg. lot, and have no shelter for my car.

I am ready for spring to look and feel like spring, which is funny from me. I love winter.

However, spring and summer await and so does my veggie garden.

I saw this on the news last night!  Unbelievable.  Really feel badly for you folks struggling with spring to appear and stay put.  Hoping things turn around soon and  :rose:.

I was in Minnesota back in October and about 3 days after I left a blizzard happened out there. It was right around Halloween.  :pumpkin:

Wow ... Hard to believe it is the middle of April and you still have snow.

We had 4 storms in March which was crazy but April .. that is nuts.

We have heavy rains here today .. Even the dog didn't want to go out and do his business.   He made it to the end of the deck and turned right back around .. LOL

Since this is the first day of my weekend, I'm thinking it will be a great day to snuggle with the pooch in bed and binge watch on Netflix.

I am parked in an apt bldg open pkg lot.

For some reason, maintenance has not even shoveled the walks, nor the handicap ramp.

It is past noon. So weird. That never happens.

Fortunately, I have enough groceries to last a couple days, but would like to shovel the car out. However, there was freeing rain, a hail storm, more rain and then a blizzard.

Sooooooooo....ice under all the snow, so not walking out there today.
