My condolences. I still shed a tear for a golden retriever that blessed me with fifteen years of joy and happiness. We had to have her put down for cancer and I am somebody that will never let a living creature suffer. Her quality of life was lacking due to the pain. The house was with out a soul for two weeks as the entire family moped. We received a call on day fifteen from the breeder of our first golden retriever and were wold that she had one puppy left from a litter of champions. We were not even looking. The dog's mother was named Angel and the female puppy was a gift from above. We decided to have two golden retrievers this time (I would have three if my wife would let me). One year after getting the one puppy the breeder called us and said that we could have the pick of the litter from the same doggy parents so we grabbed a little boy puppy. The two of them have helped us move forward after the first pup, but like I said, she is forever in our hearts. I hope that your pain heals soon...sorry to hear about your little friend.

I am so sorry to hear this. My dog is like my child and I can't imagine my life without her. Pets are definitely family.

Special prayers for comfort!  It is very hard to lose a beloved pet.  They become our family.  It has been three years since we lost our Tommy.  We had had him for 16 years.  He was such a comfort to us when we became "empty nesters".
Have a wonderful day!

My little dog an eight pound shih tzu had to be put to sleep a few days ago.  I try to only post happy stuff but I am posting this in honor of her.  She was my best friend and when my husband passed six years ago was such a comfort to me.  I am lost without her but loss is a part of life and I guess we have no choice but to move on the best we can.   :dog:

Aw, so sorry. I feel your pain. Our last baby was lost at 7 years old 7 years ago.We have never gotten another fur baby since, but a cat has decided we are to take care of her babies. There's been 2 litters. The first litter of 5, I socialized 3 of them, found homes for 2, 1 ran away the night prior to getting neutered, and kept 1 and did get her fixed. (She's my avatar). i called her Runt 'cause she was tiny. She got sick one night and we nursed her back to health but she was never the same and became mean. She then attacked me so we let her go. The newest litter was another 5. One got killed on the road, one was our favorite and was going to get her fixed, and there were 2 males and another female. Can't get close to the other female, but both got pregnant. Our favorite disappeared and we figured she gave birth and would come back for milk. She never did. Since she was so tiny, I think she may have had trouble. Two kittens were found dead on our porch and they were pretty big so this was our thinking. The other one is no longer pregnant but we haven't found her babies and she only leaves the porch with the other two cats. Otherwise, she's here and sleeps here. So I think her kittens died. Momma has come back one again to eat but leaves again. I think she had kids and she will bring them here soon. They are always feral (Momma teaches them good) and it takes months to get near them. I really hope she doesn't bring any more here. We can't get close to her for long, either, or else we'd get her fixed. But at least we have no mice, moles, or squirrels. :)

I am so sorry for your loss.  Losing a pet is the down side of having pets but the joy that they bring while they are with us is the best.  They have such unconditionally love.  Like the bumper sticker says "The more people I meet the more I love my dog/cat"

Sorry about your pet, I know for many people the are a part of the family; I have not had a pet in my adult life but did have a puppy when I was a young child and he was like family.
