Contests ?

Do you enter contests or buy chances to win stuff ?  I used to and don't know why i stopped because i have won allot of things, EVEN a fishing boat once on a drawing , that didn't even have to buy a ticket for it.  Are you lucky ?

Wow, good for you! Some people may think it's luck but I believe it's being blessed. It's already in your cards so there is really no such luck there. But for those who think it's the luck of the Irish, then good for you!

I do. I've won a couple times. One time I won tickets for a hockey game, but never received them. Once I won tickets to a music festival, but I already had a vacation planned. I was going to sell or give away the tickets, but I didn't receive them until a few days before the festival, which was out of state. It was too short notice for anyone I knew to go, and I couldn't mail them to anyone in time. So they just went to waste. My husband won a weekend at a casino resort from a fundraiser. We went, but neither of us likes to gamble, so it was kind of boring. So basically we only win things we don't receive or don't want. Haha. I can never seem to win a car or house or even just a bit of cash.

I just recently won a Sonos home speaker as a door prize drawing. It was totally unexpected.

The biggest thing I ever won was $2500.00 on a game site playing solitaire.  I used to subscribe to a sweepstakes newsleter and won a lot of small stuff but I got sick of doing it.

No I am not a gambler and don't want to spend money on the chance of getting something.  That keeps me slower on this kind of website.

If you count bad luck, yeah, hubby and I are lucky. A couple moments stand out to me where it really was divine intervention... and a bit of luck. Years ago, I had car payments but ran into bad luck and couldn't make the payments anymore. The finance company was coming to repossess in a week. Broke my heart because I paid all but $500 over the years. Anyway, I bought an rub off lottery card on my way home from work and when I rubbed the covering off when I got home, I had a $500 winner. No kidding!!! I ran back to the store and had them verify it. Sure enough. So I called the finance company after I did the paperwork to get the money and showed them the papers so they held off until the winnings came.

Another time, someone bought us a lottery calendar from a volunteer fire co. loaded with numbers for every day of the year. If your number came up the same day as the state lottery number, you won as much as $100. Our car was on it's last legs but it wasn't looking good for us. Anyway, on the very last day in December, our number came up and we won $100. Hubby was working 50 miles away that day so I called him to let him know the good news. He said he was about to call me...he had just bought a car from another worker for $100 - it needed a transmission but no problem. Our car was the same make and model. So that was luck because we didn't really know how we'd ever afford another car.

Those are the only 2 times I can remember except after 2 years, I finally sold my cemetery lots. That's how I paid for my laptop to get fixed.

I'll enter contests now and then. But I haven't really won much. Though one time I did win a set of tickets, so that counts.

Oh yeah, forgot about winning 3 50/50's in the last 7 months at the monthly meetings at the Sportmans Club I belong to...all were in the $90 range....

One even paid for my entire years dues...
