Switching medications
« on: July 03, 2018, 01:36:25 pm »
So, I have an anxiety disorder. And was prescribed a new medication for it that I frankly don't think is working for me. In fact, I think it's made my anxiety worse. So, long story short, my doctor is going to ween me off it and put me back on my old meds, which weren't working perfect either, but were a helluva lot better than what I'm dealing with right now. My question is, do you have any tips on how to remain positive? Think things are going to get better? Right now, I'm just so depressed all I want to do is sleep. I wish I felt more like myself, and could get past these nervous feelings.

I would suggest doing some yoga. maybe you think it sounds crazy but give it a try.

I've done yoga before. I actually enjoy it. I have a ton of relaxation tapes. I'll try to do some on my day off tomorrow. :) (July 4th!!!)

I would like to switch to something new for my anxiety/panic disorder/depression. I have been taking taking celexa for a long time now. Seems like the last few months it just isn't working.

My doctor added Buspar, but I think it's making me more nervous rather than more calm. I just want to be on Klonopin, Prozac, and Zyprexa by themselves. Unfortunately, weening myself off Buspar could present challenges.

Try and stay around drama  free people and perhaps do some sort of yoga or calming activity such as using the adult coloring books; one can get lost in doing that; hope things improve for you.

I have anxiety and depression and some days, it's tough to stay "busy" when I'm home. I usually just play Candy Crush and various slot games on my tablet to pass the time and keep myself busy. I was on Trintellix for awhile but now I just take Cymbalta. I have good days and bad days. I hope you can get off the Buspar without problems and find something that works better for you. Good luck!

I've always enjoyed yoga, but a good old fashioned therapist can do wonders for a lot of people!

Try to find something you like doing or go and help others less fortunate like the homeless or a woman's shelter etc.  I will keep you in prayer.

Awwwww ... thanks for all your support. Even the medical marijuana is a good idea ... LOL. I'm very shy so I don't have many friends, but I will try to get around more people, or play games on my phone that I enjoy. I love blackjack. I find it relaxing, especially when I'm playing with fake money. LOL

You play Candy Crush to relax? Seriously? That game has made me want to throw my phone thru a wall.
