I guess I'm in the minority   It was very impressive but not nearly as impressive for us as was the trip from Grand Canyon Hoover Dam etc  but then I'm not a gambler

My husband had a friend who moved to Vegas 30 years ago. He never came back but his wife did. She hated it there. He loved it. So they got a divorce. When he moved out there, he broke all ties with friends and family. It was odd, but that's what he wanted to do.

It's been a while since I had my in-person experience with Las Vegas, coming about 10 years after working professionally with prominent law firms located in Nevada (serving as outside counsel to the company).  So, my trip was mixed with the familiarity of the benefits of Nevada law to business deals and knowing a bit about the old "original" Las Vegas of the Rat Pack and other entertainment headliners like Elvis Presley, Liberace, Don Rickles and many others who made history there.  But that's all been wiped clean by a makeover to make it family friendly -- and its population has swelled to over 600,000.  I suggest you go online and check out the free Visitors Guide -- the tourism center is well known for the tagline:  "What happens here, stays here."

Oh, and Rodney Carrington -- he's a southern boy (country music artist, stand-up comedian, actor) who has a comedy gig that's rather salty, but very funny.

I've never been to Vegas, but would love to go.  There's a lot of shows that look great there.  I've seen some stuff from Rodney Carrington, but never in person.  Hope it's a great time!

I was in Vegas last December ~ helped chaperoned my niece's high school basketball team while they played in a tournament.  What a culture shock for this Kentucky girl!!  I can say "been there, done that" and don't really have any desire to go back.  I guess if I had a lot of money to blow, I would have had a better time.

I have heard of Rodney Carrington.  He is talented and he can be very funny!  I really would have liked to have caught Terry Fator's show but $65/ticket was out of my budget.
Have a wonderful day!

Been there many years ago when gambling was the only option.  Haven't been since and don't know anything about Rodney Carrington.

Only been there a couple of times and each time I go, I end up getting sick for some odd reason, All and all I think I'm cursed from going to be honest.

Went many times in my younger years with ex-hubby. We always too the 2 boys. He was very selfish about things and for the most part the children and I sit at the motel room while He gambled. Once in a while  we would  stay at  Circus Circus , when it was geared a lot more toward having a place for children to play. Now it is not as nice. Sometimes we would take his parents. Grandma would take  care of them and I would go with grandpa, He considered me his good luck. I have seen him win up to $50.000.00. Most of it I would be holding. But then I have seen him lose his tail too. But not often. But now I really don't care to go anymore.  Think I got sick of it.

We've been several times but not in several years.  We love it.  Have seen many of the Cirque shows and enjoyed all of them.   Love watching the fountains at Bellagio.  Great free entertainment.  We enjoy gambling but it's mainly slot machines.  We always limit our gambling expense to a daily amount.  Once that's gone, that's it for the day.   Have stayed at the Luxor (can get great rates there), Mirage, several times.   MGM, was too big for me.   It's just a fun place but I understand how some folks might not like it.  Make sure you bring good walking shoes, it's a must.   Husband and adult son rode the rides on top of the Stratosphere, not me, no way, but they loved it.   Spent quite a bit of time at the pool just relaxing.   We also did a helicopter tour to the Grand Canyon which was also loads of fun.   it's just a fun place and a lot to see just walking around and people watching.   Hope you have a great memorable time.

I don't know who Rodney Carrington is, but I've been to Vegas twice. Not really interested in going back. I had fun, I guess, but I'm not a gambler so it was just kind of a waste of money. When I travel, I prefer to go to 'natural' places - mountains, beaches, etc.

Vegas is the most fun place to visit.  I has so much to see besides the gambling.  The lights at night is the best.
