do you ever buy the wrong gender version of your product?
« on: August 21, 2018, 09:47:34 am »
I (female) buy the guy version of things like lotions, razors, etc if it's a better deal. Or sometimes the price is the same but I just like the guy packaging or scents better. I figure the actual product is the same so I don't care.

I bet women are more willing to buy male branded products than men are to buy female branded products. Do you?

I have a small man's sunglasses they were free so I wear them for this season very good lens so what's to say about that. I use the man's razors before, used lotion on my feet and legs no bad results  :rainbow:

I myself do not use disposable razors but my daughter does. She once asked me to pick up some while i was out shopping. I bought her a package which were mens. I did not notice that they were for men.

I usually buy the female ones. I don't buy the deodorant for men that has the men scent. I don't care what anybody else does and thing the people who try to start a movement about it saying male or female on it are crazy.

Products directed toward men are cheaper than the same thing for women, so I am going to be a more careful shopper and check out the male section of the products.

I have noticed women's products cost more.  It's frustrating.  But there are some things as a woman  I prefer to use.  I'm not a man and some things I just prefer to buy feminine.  Deodorant is one of them.  I like smelling like a woman.  I have used men's deodorant before... when I've run out I've used my husbands.  And it's okay.  But as soon as I can get the ladies version I do.  Even razors.  I have a favorite. It's a venus.  He's are fine but the Venus seems to work on my shape and skin so so so much better.

I nor my daughter buys men products, if it's not made for women, then I will not go looking for it in the men section, i will just do without.

Was it Secret that advertised being "strong enough for a man, but made for a woman"?

Depends on the product. For example I have not noticed razors for men being cheaper than the ones for women.

I agree.  I got a free sample of the men's degree deodorant and until I used it and later could smell myself I didn't realize how much of a scent it had. I don't want to smell like a man either. lol

That seems kind of foolish. Most of the stuff like razors are just that razors. They are the same except for maybe color or design. If the women's section is totally out buy the generic made for either bags that are 10 in a bag.  I don't see what difference it makes.

No.  I never intentionally buy the wrong version of my product.  I do use men's razors if that is all that is in the house.  The only thing that really would be for men would be deodorant, & I buy the women's... or if there is a sale on clinical men's, I buy that.

A couple days ago I got a 3 pack of Clinical Secret deodorant at Sam's Club & I wanted to give one to my husband & he didn't want to use it, he said it was because of the smell... but the scent wasn't too floral or strong so he relented. I would have used the men's clinical but they just didn't have it.... or at Costco. I run so I like the clinical stuff, men or women's whatever is cheaper because it's pricey.

I buy the generic, I also have purchased main and tail shampoo and conditioner. There was time it was only for horses. But us  farm and ranch girls caught onto that a long time before they started selling it to us for  public use. Heck we were always washing the horses,  show cows and out dogs with it and never hurt us. But sure  made our hair shiny and silky.  Back  to the question , I use  whatever I buy my husband  in the way of razors and also use his shaving cream.   the merchandise is the same . but it  is easy to tell women they should use what is for women.  I don't buy into.
