Do you cover?

I keep it covered up all the time, can't trust people who hack into your computer, once you use the webcam during survey taking.

My desktop computer monitor doesn't have a webcan, but my laptop does. I don't know anything about webcams but had heard you could be watched, so I put a piece of freezer tape over it. When I had to take the laptop for repairs, the guy told me it was impossible for someone to spy without permission so he took the tape off. I left it off but it still makes me nervous because I would scare the bejeesus out of someone and I don't want to be responsible for someone having a heart attack.

I cover mine too. I like to make sure it is free from dust and dirt.

I don't have a webcam on my home computer, but I do have a post it note over the camera on my work computer. I don't need people looking at me staring at a computer screen during web meetings. That's just too weird.

I don't cover it, but I do face it a different way when I'm not using it.  Even though I don't think I'm likely to be hacked, it's easy enough to move it.

I don't have one but I think you are wise to do what you are doing.  There are so many things out there today - one never knows!!!

I don't have mine covered and I guess I didn't realize that someone could see me without my camera light coming on. Looks like I will be getting a sticky note to put in front of my webcam tonight.

I don’t know how to cover a webcam. I don’t see how it’s like a physical camera.

      Wow! I don't cover my camera on my laptop, of course I have a light when its activated. I don't use my camera on my computer much. I have thought about this before, but I don't do much with my computer these day's to think there should be a concern.

I never did before until I got a spam email that was sort of an extorting email.  It said unless I sent them so much money they would publish pictures and scenes taken from my webcam.  I didn't believe it and deleted my email but then covered up my webcam!  It's not like they would have any incriminating pictures, anyway, but...
