Excited
« on: September 30, 2018, 09:38:44 am »
I got a new job. I will be started Tuesday October 2. I will be working in one of our locals schools in the cafeteria. The hours are perfect 9 to 1:30. I will still be able to drop of my kids to school and pick them up in the afternoon. I haven't worked since 2000. I have been a homemaker for 18 years. So I will be doing something for myself and for my family.

Sounds like a great and easy job,  and no baby sitting fees wow. Wish I could have had one like that when  my children were small. But being married to a farmer/rancher it was just too busy to  have a job.  But 15 years  of it and his playing around was enough, we split and then I went  to work  40 hours or more a week, But heck it was easier.

Congratulations on your new job.  The best part, besides the extra money, is working while your kids are still in school so you can still be there for them when they come home, & are on holidays.

All the best in your job!!

My wife has worked for the School District as a Substitute Assistant (mostly for special needs kids) for the last decade and at 75 she is still going. She loves it and they love her, so it's a win-win.

I worked as a paraprofessional (fancy name given to Teacher Assistant) for an autistic girl 8 years.  It was a wonderful experience.  I am thrilled that your wife is helping special needs kids, especially at 75.
