Oil Diffusers
« on: October 20, 2018, 08:15:24 am »
Do any of you use these? I bought one this morning. I only got 2 oils because they are expensive and I wanted to see how it works first. My brother keeps something going at their house all the time.  I got the Lavender and the Sleepy Time one.  I have the Lavender going now.

If you have actually used one I am curious as to how you like it? Do you think it makes any difference? Which scents do you use?

I don't know what Breathe in is.  Is that one of the oils?  I am not sure about which ones to use. If I really like it I am going to get my mom one as well.  My brother likes his.

We have two and have been using them for years.  Lavender is one of our favorites.  I have various oils.   My advice would be to look up what the oils do.  Always be sure to get pure grade oils.

I have three I only paid $7 for them earlier this year.  Then I checked and they went up and it ranges from $20 to $40 on some sites. I love it, it changes colors.  I get oils from Puritan Pride where I got the diffuser from.  Sometimes I get good sales at different stores.

My husband buys those glade pluggin's like gas. They do smell nice but it get's expensive.  Or he'll get yankee candles.  But he only lights candles in his office and the small only goes so far.  I have friends who are really into essential oils.  I've only had "calm the child" and as far as I'm concerned it works great.  I may invest in oils someday.  I prefer the warm glow of a candle though.

I don't use fragrances in the house. I can't breathe around them.

I do love the essential oils in the diffuser. It makes the room so much lighter and smells good too. I use different oils to help the mood I am in. I have sandlewood, balancing oils, citrus, apple, cinnamon, so many and I love them all. Meditate to them and it will help your mind and spirit.

I got the oil that was beside the diffuser.  I wondered if it were okay to use a different brand oil.  Our Walmart has a ton of them.  I am thinking about getting my mom one for Christmas.  But I would like for her to pick the oils she wants.  I like the lavender too.  Seems like I got one that says it is for stress or sleep I can't remember.  I don't like the scent as good as the other one. But it is okay.

no...not familiar with them...what are they?

They have them at Walmart and online and are all the rage right now. lol.  Basically it is this little thing (varies in size, color, and style) and you put water in it and you put a couple drops of an essential oil (they are usually sold near the diffuser) and when you turn it on it has a steam/vapor coming out the top and it is whatever scent your oil is.  The oils are suppose to do different things.  Like relax you, relieve stress, help you sleep, help you breath better, or whatever.  They have a ton of them and they do seem to work.  It has been proven that certain scents can have effects on you.

It is the same with a lot of the natural herbs and stuff that help your body and health.  The FDA does not want you to know about it because they want you to have to spend money at the pharmacy.  Not sure these oils can help you be healthier though.

Look at your Walmart.  We have them in the pharmacy stuff near the vitamins and also in the scented candle area.  I am thinking of getting a second one and putting in the other end of the house.  It also (or at least the one I have) turns off when the water gets low.  They also I think have some that run for like 4 hours.  And won't run if the water is not sufficient.

This is much better.  You will pay any where from $13 (what I paid) to like others said $40 or more.  Mine does a good job.  And it gives scent like a candle.  The oils will last a long time. I think I gave around $6 for each one and I bought 2.  You only use a couple drops (2-4) per time you put water in the thing.  I can smell mine pretty good thru the house.  And you can use more oil if you want but I would think using too much will junk it up.

I'm glad I found this post. It reminded me that I have been meaning to get a diffuser. I already have a bunch of essential oils that I use for making facial oils and lip balm.  I get mine from Mountain Rose Herbs. They also have lots of stuff in bulk - tea, wax, spices and herbs, etc. I love this company because they are super earth friendly.
