One Of My Worst Survey Experiences Ever
« on: November 20, 2018, 06:20:55 pm »
I have had a lot of bad survey experiences but this has to rank as among the worst.

This was not on Fusion Cash but it was a survey company that recruits on FC as well as many other sites that I am on.

I have attempted many surveys with this company. I do not always qualify and some other times, I completed, submitted and got the "Sorry".  But more often than not, I do qualify, complete and get credit so I am always glad to see the home page of this company. The surveys of this company are always long, sometimes tedious and do not always pay well but I am glad for them.

Well, I began one today that was very boring and went on and on and on. After a very long time, the screen began to buffer and I got a message saying that my survey had timed out but there was an updated version. Did I want to continue and I did. Well, the survey continued and it went on and on and on. The same thing happened. The screen began to buffer and I got the same message and did I want to continue. I said yes and the next screen that came up was more of the same. Lots of questions that appeared to have no end in site.

I gave up and I do not always give up. The survey was supposed to be a 10 minute survey paying 30 cents. I had been on it now for about 30 minutes and there was no reason to think that it was going to finish anytime soon.

I felt drained.

Sorry you had a bad survey experience :(  Some of these surveys can go on for what seems like an eternity, and it is draining.  I too hate to give up but sometimes have to.  8)

Oh, gosh, I feel for you!

Last night I was doing a survey on my wireless bill. I'm completing the survey on my computer. They want screenshots from my phone's app. They say in the beginning that they want basic bill information. Well, a 20 minute survey turned into an hour  because they ended up wanting like 8 photos, 1 per "page submission" and there was no notice. I sent numerous emails to myself and edited out sensitive info, of course.
Then, the end is the logistics of age, race, occupation, income, etc. (I absolutely despise this being at the end of most surveys. They end up getting our survey AND qualifying info for FREE when they DQ us ::) )

So, I did all this... just for the last page to go straight white. It was supposed to be a 20 minute survey for almost 2 bucks. I didn't even get a DQ bonus...
Thanks FC! Welcome back to me! haha ???

I decided to cut my losses.  Sometimes, one has to admit defeat.

I would not attempt the survey that you are posting about because it sounds too complicated. It sometimes seems to me that the most complicated, difficult, and boring surveys are the ones that do not credit.

Well, at first it sounded like it only wanted a photo or two. Then it asked for more and more and there's only so many charges on my Verizon bill lmao ::) it was nuts, I agree with you lol

That WAS a bad experience.  I feel your pain.  Since I started doing the Tap Research surveys, I have had mostly good luck -- the was one car related one a couple of days ago  that had such convoluted questions, I could not even figure out what they were trying to ask.....it was a "free text" type of thing, so I just wrote my opinion on how the question was hard to answer.  I got credit.  I realize it may be revoked, but I really don't care....I hope someone reads my responses -- I wonder if anyone could actually figure it out.

I had one a couple of days ago that, after several pages of my careful reading and answering, had the nerve to DQ me for "rushing through" the survey. Honestly, do they think that adults have to read as slowly as third graders? And I deliberately slowed myself down after reading the disclaimer at the top of the qualification pages about "rushing through."

The good news is now that I know which survey company it is (and I'm not revealing that here) I can walk away and have more coffee or use the bathroom between question pages so as to not "rush." LOL

That sounds tough. I have been caught in long surveys that seem to never end too, and I also end up leaving the survey. I definitely do not fault you for giving up considering the time commitment made with no end in sight. Sometimes it is best to just move on to something else.

I think most of us have had bad experiences with surveys, but luckily most are good and do credit, so just keep trying

I have been offered this survey or one similar where to participate I had to upload my cell phone bill.  I have always declined the offer because I did not like the sound of it. Glad that I did.

I had one that kept doing the same thing, so after awhile I just gave up, kept starting over after I thought I was almost finished.

I am aware that these companies will DQ you if they think you are going too fast as well as too slow. Sometimes there is an "average" of how much time it should take you and if you are at the percent that is too fast or too slow, you will get DQ'd.  Even worse is when you are allowed to complete and submit only to get the "sorry" or no credit. That is often because the computer "detected"that you were going too fast or too slow.

I think that you have learned how to play the game.

I can tell you, I will now be doing that lol I did black out all sensitive information so I wasn't too worried about that aspect
