Getting a 1099

You have been on here for years and NOW you're asking this The government already knows how much you make and what can be taxed. Good luck.

The government does not know how much I or anyone else makes on sites like this. Unless it is over $600. And I have never made $600 on this site.  My question did not have anything to do with THIS site.  But I knew people on here had been talking about getting a 1099 from FC and other like sites.  That is why I asked the question here.

I am not trying to scam anyone.  I asked a simple question that no one has answered yet.  I am not asking for advice. I just wondered how it turned out for other people.

If you do things thru the year and get a 1099 at the end of the year it is going to be like being self employed or doing contract labor which is back to being self employed.  So when you turn that in you have not had any taxes taken out of the pay (like with a regular job where you get a W2).  Most times you will get a refund because most people end up having more taxes taken out of their check than they will actually owe.  That is where the refund comes from.  If you have several 1099s where you have income and have had NO taxes taken out and you have to pay that at the end of the year you will owe money.  Unless you have income from somewhere else and have a refund that the money you owe can be taken from you will be paying the government instead of getting a refund.  Even if you have refund money coming unless it is more than you owe from the taxes you did not pay thru the year (income from the 1099) you are still going to end up paying instead of receiving.  This happens with a lot of self employed people.
