Flight Cancelled

I was supposed to fly to AZ on the 29th on SW but, when I went to check in 24 hrs ahead of my flight, I found it was cancelled.      They weren't rebooking until the 1st so I am now going Friday.  Grandkids were disappointed.

What the heck?  So they can just cancel your flight for no reason? And they don't even call or text or email or whatever and tell you? That isn't a good policy.

I have never flown and never want to so I am not sure how that works.  I guess they can do whatever they want to.  Apparently they can give your seat away or whatever.

They can cancel for any reason really mostly though its due to weather but sometimes it may be due to plane issues. Rather be safe then sorry

Yes, it was due to weather.  I was afraid it would happen.  We got a big snowstorm the day before I was supposed to fly out and then the deep freeze.   Lots of flights are cancelled.  I called right away to rebook before all the flights got filled up.

That's disappointing.  Why weren't you notified of the cancellation?  I hope you enjoy Arizona when you go.

I'm not sure why I wasn't notified.  I thought I would get an email or next but didn't notice one.  Maybe I need to sign up for notifications?  Or maybe they weren't sure til the last minute.  And, thanks!  I'm sure I will.  Always have a good time with my daughter and grandkids.

How disappointing!  My boss was scheduled to fly out of Columbus today for a cruise out of FL.  That flight got cancelled yesterday.   They couldn't get another flight to make the ship's departing schedule so they rented a car to drive down to FL.  I'm looking forward to my "stay-at-home" vacation while he is gone.  I feel like I'm on vacation when he is gone...

I thought about driving but I already have the plane ticket and it would take at least 2 days.  I have trouble driving these days because I don't sleep well so it's hard for me to stay awake and by the time I paid for hotels and food on the road, it would get pretty expensive.  We, also, already have tickets to fly back.  Enjoy your vacation!

My girlfriends husband is in Chicago for business.  His flight is cancelled and she’s praying he gets home (PA) by Saturday as they are flying to Cayman Islands.

Sorry to hear about the cancellations. I'm sure the're good reasons; however, you should have been notified. With email text, facebook and the like. Stay safe whatever mode of travel you take!

Thank you!  I just checked in and got my boarding pass, so, HOPEFULLY it will take off as scheduled tomorrow night.  My dad took flying lessons and wanted to be a pilot and he said when it's so cold, the air is too thin and the plane can't get enough lift to take off.  Still below zero today but it's supposed to get up to 18 above by the time we are scheduled to take off tomorrow evening.

I'm so sorry to hear about your flight's cancelation. I think when the weather is an issue that is a good reason to cancel you don't want to find out the hard way.

yes i hate when that happens me and my girlfriend got delayed in san francisco last december but thank goodness it was only 2 hours
