Yes!  I absolutely love mint from my own garden, whether it's in the ground or pot.  Ahh...remembering while growing up in the city the mint plants that flourished at our house when planted near the spigot.  We would frequently pick some of it for iced tea.  I lost my thriving mint plant that I had in a pot to the winter a couple of years ago and I've been intending to replace this marvelous herbaceous treat.

We grow mint and a lot of other herbs. We can't use all we grow so we dry them in the food dehydrator.

Okay.  Thank you.  I just harvested some Mint it is Peppermint.  I am currently drying in dehydrator.  I washed it before I put in there.  I did dry it off some.  It has been in there a couple hours.  I think it is set on about 125.  Not sure if that is right.  I tried to dry some a few years ago just hanging but ended up throwing it away.

I do not want to eat this because it is by the mail box and I am not sure if any dogs have peed on it.  We are going to use in some crafts.

How long do you leave yours in the dehydrator?  I was going to just crush it up when it gets dry.  I also have oregano I am going to dry tomorrow.

I have in years past grown dill but I did not see any at Lowe's this year.  I need to look again cause I love that in a lot of different things.

I don't know if I've ever had fresh mint.  I do know I enjoy the flavor in a york peppermint patty, or in my coffee.  I wouldn't know where to begin with growing it.  And once I had it I don't know what I would do with it.  I'm not big on tea...suppose I'd find some use for it.  Oh one of my favorite essential oils is peppermint.

Well, I bought some CBD tincture that had a mint flavor. Does that count?  ;)

I've also used mint in my drinking water at times. It's supposed to help you maintain your weight.

I used to grow veggies and herbs when I had a yard. I only grew mint one summer though, because I never knew what to use it in, except mojitos. I miss growing my own stuff.  :(

There are many uses for mint -- most common is with tea because it aids in digestion.  Being southern, fresh mint in iced tea always added flavorful refreshment.

You can also use fresh mint with mixed greens in a salad or numerous other salads like quinoa tabouli with parsley + mint or Mediterranean herb quinoa salad.  You can find many recipe ideas.

Another idea is freeze mint leaves using water or sparkling water in your ice cube tray to create a colorful touch to your drinks.  If using purified water to make the ice cubes, boil it first, then cool, before putting it in the ice cube tray with the mint leaf in order to give your ice cubes that crystal clear look.

Be creative!

If you love tabouli or even if you've never tried it, then consider the quinoa tabouli with parsley & mint recipe found in Elizabeth Rider's blog (www.elizabethrider.com/quinoa-tabouli-with-parsley-mint).  Oh, this is so good as a salad on a bed of lettuce!  It just tastes like summertime.  The recipe calls for diced cucumbers and grape or cherry tomatoes plus red onion, parsley and mint (finely chopped).  I've had it with couscous, but this recipe subs that with quinoa.

Just buy it at Walmart or Lowe's and stick it in the ground.  It grows like wild and spreads.  You can't get rid of it so be sure you really want it. haha

I am not sure how to extract oil from it and do not know how to use it in teas.  Or something like hot chocolate.

Like I said, I crushed mine and we are going to use it in soap.  I am just glad it got dry.  I had it in the dehydrator and the power went out and was out for about 5 hours.

Something happened to a lot of our garden stuff.  It is like somebody came up and sprayed something on the plants in the middle of the night.  We have lost most of our crop. (And no nobody really done that lol)

I need to try to grow mint in pots up on the back porch.  Then I know nothing peed on it unless it was a bird.
