How's Your Mental Health?
« on: August 09, 2019, 03:57:02 pm »
With all the shootings and crime that we hear about on the news - it's natural to wonder about the mental health of individuals involved.

I have some days that are better than others.  If I forget to turn off a burner on my stove or I temporarily lose my keys I have to wonder about my own mental health.  I don't see myself ever being violent but sometimes I do or say things that might make other people wonder about me.

I use an herb called Gingko to keep myself mentally alert but sometimes I forget to take my herb.  Isn't that ironic?

Gingko is an herb that should help me remember to take it.

I like to play a game of solitaire online to see where I am - mentally.  If I can sort through and organize the cards with at least 2 minutes remaining - I feel that I'm doing okay.
I also do my best to get a super B complex in my body because it's important for both; mental and physical health.

It's bizarre to me - that a percentage of people are mentally ill or challenged without knowing that there's something wrong.  They perceive their mental health to be normal because they don't know any different.

Some people are using mind altering substances that have an impact on their mental health.  Then there are people who aren't using anything; but should be taking a prescription drug, to improve their situation.

How are you doing mentally?

Do you have a strategy for maintaining your mental health?

Have a great day!

Well, I’ve had severe anxiety out of having thought too much. I played too many brain games out of having a hard time understanding reasoning games (which is not odd for anyone with autism). I have felt a little better every day ever since I cut down on games.

I'm not too worried about those mass shootings. I live in an area which is very safe and very liberal. Not too many crime is happening here.

I've been doing pretty well (mentally).  I do what I can to keep myself safe by not putting myself in dangerous or harmful situations.  Other than that there is not much more I can do.  Whatever happens,,,happens.  8)

I do not believe in the "mental health" everybody wants to spout.  It is a heart and moral problem.  Not a mental health problem.  People are just mean!  And evil!

I have been doing really good mentally lately I stay at home more than normal cause the world is so scary anymore . I try not to think all the evil in the world and try to Concentrate on the good

I try to avoid public places all I can.  I went to Walmart at the crack of dawn this morning then to the grocery store.  People who are out early in the morning are way nicer. :D

You can concentrate on the good all you want but you still have to be aware of the things going on around you.  And know that you can't trust people.

I'm not too worried about those mass shootings. I live in an area which is very safe and very liberal. Not too many crime is happening here.

lol.  You keep telling yourself that.  Bad things can happen anywhere and FYI it is not "conservatives" that are carrying out mass shootings.  You can think your area is safe all you want but rest assured bad things can happen in your town.  The mass shooting in Texas was in a gun free zone (which def is NOT a conservative thing).  And you see how well that worked out for them.

I've been doing pretty well (mentally).  I do what I can to keep myself safe by not putting myself in dangerous or harmful situations.  Other than that there is not much more I can do.  Whatever happens,,,happens.  8)

Leaving your home is putting yourself in a dangerous situation.  Every time I go to Walmart it is in my head that some physco can come in there with a gun and just start shooting the heck out of everyone in the path.  No town or area is safe.  It can happen anywhere.

I am totally having a mental break down and been like this since I lost my daughter to suicide  2 years ago.  I do not think I will ever mentally okay.  I take it one minute at a time to survive.

The Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) is what I use to help with my anxiety.  It is a wonderful self help tool that works!!!  It involves tapping on different acupuncture points on your body to help clear out any negative emotions.  It has changed my life, and I am grateful to have such a useful tool.  It's free and easy to learn.  Just search on the Internet.  I highly recommend it.

Ugh it is okay. I have had some personal issues going on for awhile that has really taken a toll on me. To top it off I have serious anxiety so that just makes it worse. Hoping to eventually feel better again by realizing you can't change the past and by trying to make everyday a positive day.

Mine is  pretty darn good , now my husband is  starting to  get confused once in a while and can't seem to remember a lot of things.  He tends  what  was said at times. and then swears   told. Well art of that is he is so hard of hearing.  As soon as the weather  cools off some we are going to go and get him and my dad's hearing checked. They are both so darn  hard of hearing it  almost  make things difficult for me. I can not talk over the  TV blaring and then talking at the same  time just as loud to each other. It is hard to tune it out.
