The phone rings all the time here, We do not answer if it does not show a name.  If they leave a message we call back.

Same here.  Most people have go to the point that they do not answer the phone if they do not know the number.  I don't even answer local numbers any longer because of the spoofing or they use the first 6 numbers that looks local to you so you answer then it is OH you owe federal student loans.  NO I DO NOT.  Never had a student loan period.

i too dont like all the scam callslike the irs etc or my computer is infected.

The other day when TAP was not crediting for me and I was trying to get the 5 cents I tried the videos.  The first one credited a penny.  I go to the second one and as the video is playing I get a pop up telling me my computer has just sent out all my bank account information and something about Microsoft and I need to call this 800#.
It was a big red box with warning all over the place.  I had to shut the computer down as I could not X out of anything.  I immediately clear all cookies and run virus protection.

My bank account info is NOT stored on my computer and I don't use Microsoft so there ya go.  I have got the your computer is infected warning on the computer several times.  I remember some jerk calling my Mammaw a few years ago saying her computer was sending them messages saying it was infected and he needed her credit card number so he could fix it.  I am SO THANKFUL I was there to answer that call.  She got scammed another time by some jerk (well I will stop there) lol.  I could never make her understand that you are not being mean when you don't talk to these people or when you smart off to them.  They are trying to STEAL everything you have!  Don't worry about not being nice to them.

  Then, these companies flood your house with unwanted products.
   I agree: It should be illegal to sell your private information.

Most of the time you give them permission.  And you give them the info.  A couple days ago I called Oscar Mayer because I opened a bag of bacon bits that was rancid.  They were within the dates but the meat was bad.  Sadly I had already poured a handful in to my eggs and ate a bite before I realized they were bad.  Anyway, I called the company to report it.  They are going to send me a coupon to replace the bag I purchased.  And they blamed Walmart because obviously they stored them incorrectly. lol

At the end of the convo she asked me if she could put me on her mailing list to receive recipes, coupons, free samples, and whatever.  I told her that was fine.  She did ask for my ph number and I did provide it.  But it did not matter because I called an 800 number and you cannot block your ph number if you call a toll free number.  They are paying for the call and they have a right to know who is calling them.  uh okay.  They say they won't sell my info and it will be kept within their company.

I am to the point that stuff like name address and ph number doesn't really matter.  I am on the do not call list and I get about 10 calls a day saying I owe the IRS money, we need to talk to you about your federal student loans, or we want to give you money.  smh  I don't answer if I do not know the phone number.

This  computer  does not  any of my personal ID o it. it is strictly for  surveys ,  face book and e-mails . my other coulter is strictly for  personal use. Hubby is not even allowed on it.  So he plays games on this one all he wants and I do surveys.  My fathers info is on the other one along with  ours and a couple of friends who do not have computers. I do the work and they get the copies of what everit is they want me to do.

Yeah, I received one spam e-mail sometime back claiming they have my info and even listed the password I used way back, Funny thing is its a password I used way back in middle school and I have not used that kind of password in ages they even tried to blackmail me claiming "You better pay $$$$$ or else!" lol If I did not pay up my accounts and stuff would be frozen.

Oh I better not get a "you better pay or else" email.  I will take legal action.

I did have a man where I bought some stuff and used a credit card steal my credit card info.  He was stealing from the company and when he was about to get caught his way out was to go back and recharge people for things bought in the past.  He charged $1300 to my credit card.  The exact same charge that was made a year prior.  Long story, I had a friend at the police department and he talked to my credit card company and to the company who made the charge.  The charge was reversed.  I was young.  I should have pressed charges against him.
