Movie remakes that are better than the original

The only movie remakes I like so far is King Kong (1976) which I like better than the original 1933 movie.

I enjoy the new live action Lion King yet hated the new Aladdin movie.

I usually  hate remakes I like the original ones better but I have to say the new version of footloose was better and the way their remaking the cartoons of the Disney movies some our pretty good

Nope. Remakes are too similar to copycats for me.

So far I haven't seen any new shows that is a ripoff from former shows.  I find the new shows lacking in depth and lacking when they remake shows.
