i don't know of any families who use it. however, i volunteer at a local thrift shop and we use it there. it works well we have cameras mounted inside the store and it has decreased  shop lifting :rainbow: :peace:

I don't, but I know a lot of people who do, and they seem to appreciate it!

That's one of the things we're looking at getting soon.

I have one, we are doing remodeling on my home and they are going to install for me.  Just having them one study shows helps decrease some crimes.  Especially if the entire neighborhood has them.

I do not have one. When people knock at my door, I do not even answer!
It is just too risky.

It is risky to answer your door?  I do not open the door if I do not know who is on the other side but I will go to the door and ask who it is.  99% of the time it is some religious thing and I tell them to leave or just walk away and leave them standing out there talking to themselves.  A woman stood out there and talked for a long time the other day.  smh

Having one of these cameras, which I have considered, would be good because you can (if I understand correctly) see who is there without having to get up and go to the door and you can talk to them through the phone.  A guy was with us a few months ago and someone was at his door over an hour away and he talked to them like he was inside. Told them he was busy and could not come to the door.

And while I understand this we have come to where it is not even safe to walk up to a house and ask for help.  I think that is really sad.

We have one and I like it! Makes me feel safer. I like how you can monitor your door from your phone and see who is there.

Is this the one where someone hacked h system and was spying on the people inside? I know Ring is useful but there is always caution in using technology.

I want one of these. I like the idea of being able to see who is at my door when I'm not near it or don't want to answer it right away. To me its safety thing. Could help keep me safe since id on;t have the peeeping eye thing on my door to look through

My brother got one. It's great but I wouldn't have the patience to get it installed.

Yes, it is. I also read the other day that Ring is selling tons of your personal info to Google, Facebook (even if you don't have an account), and a bunch of other third party companies. And in that article, they mentioned that Ring employees had previously been fired for watching people's videos. I'm sure there are more shady things going on that haven't been exposed yet.

This is why I don't have any of that kind of stuff. Unfortunately, I still have a computer and phone that spy on me. I've seen "1984" and all those sci-fi movies where big brother is watching you all the time. It's actually happening now, and we're willingly buying it.

I have been wanting one because I live in a relatively save neighborhood with only one entrance/exit and a lot of people home because it is an older population for the most part but I can't see out my peep hole because I am too short and I end up just opening the door and then having to get people to "steppin".  The neighborhood has a big no soliciting sign but it doesn't seem to help that much.
