My thought is that it comes down to supply and demand. There is a limited amount of Ariana Grande and she provides a level of entertainment that a large number of people want and can not get from other stars, stars that they do not enjoy as much. Same thing with Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift and the Jonas Brothers. I do not like any of their music nor do I appreciate how they conduct their lives. But they have made a great many sacrifices to get to where they are. They work on their music, research what will meet the needs of their fan base, keep themselves physically fit and have committed to never having privacy for the rest of their lives. I believe that you must make sacrifices to get what you truly want. Many people could be millionaires if they focused on nothing more than wealth accumulation, turning their back on family, health, purchases that give them anything but money in return.

It is a obscene amount of money and it makes me cringe just reading it.  I have to wonder if any of these celebs are truly happy ?   They have no privacy, they are criticized for gaining weight or wearing the same outfit twice or not looking perfect all the time.  They can't just sit around doing nothing all day if they want to.

I'll take my boring , old life any day over that.

A lot of the homeless people are in that situation by their own choice.  If you do not work you cannot expect to have anything.  Just sayin'  As for the celebrities yes they are paid a ridiculous amount.  But the people are who makes that happen.

It's because the average people that make next to nothing keep buying her albums, merchandise, concert tickets, etc. If they didn't, she'd probably be working a dead end job like the rest of us. Lol! But yeah, it sucks that they have so much money they don't know what to do with it, and the rest of us struggle to get by.

I tend to disagree with your homeless comment. A lot of them are mentally ill. Others hare homeless because they lost a job and haven't been able to find another one in the past years so they gave up. Still others have a job but just can't afford the rent or to buy a home. Have you seen prices of rents lately in the big cities? It's outrageous!  Then there are the drug addicts. That's a whole different  ball game with them.

I hate that these celebs start other businesses. It's like they aren't happy with what they're already making in the business. People buy their items for prestige. They are the ones that are making these celebs more millions than they know what to do with it.

Celebrities put a lot of people to work, not just at the venue where they are performing; but their managers get a cut, their pr people get a cut, their glamour teams get a cut, uncle sam gets his tax cut.  But I do find it  is hypocritical of them to be promoting socialist values & keep all their profits & not kick it down to us, the plebs.  They do donate to charity, but when you make all that money you need to donate for the tax breaks.

Some homeless, and there are plenty here in Los Angeles, choose to be homeless -- they ignore help/support from community outreach programs that try to help them. Some choose to camp out instead of paying rent because it was cheaper -- there was an entire colony here in Orange County where they had rigged up solar panels & showers in their multi room tents. & Why not if you like to camp out.   Of course some are just mentally ill, but if they refuse help, there is nothing that can be done.

  It is called "free enterprise". In a highly competitive world, you should try to make as much money as you can...while you can. These celebrities will start making less money as they age. So, they need to diversify their portfolio. Look at JLo, she added perfumes and her name to fashions. As far as how they spend their money, it is all up to them. You do not know how they invest their money to help others because they use DBA- "Doing business as"-fictitious business names.
