Question about Paypal
« on: January 21, 2020, 01:39:31 pm »
Is it really necessary for Paypal to ask for my Social Security Number?
I want to find more ways to earn money online, But most of them only pay through Paypal and I need to know if I earned some money from Swagbucks or somewhere else if i don't have to give them it or if there's no way around it.

They did not ask for mine.  And my social security number is not on my PayPal account in any way, shape, form or fashion.

I don't know why some people have so many problems trying to do something that is so simple.  Unless you are lying or cheating, or have multiple accounts.

If you use it like bank and you want to keep money in there I think it may be different.  I just transfer money straight to my bank once I accept the deposit.

Some things did change a while back with PayPal and it mostly was to cut down on fraud. People think they are being cute and pulling all this stuff. But it just ends up making things harder on everyone.  Kind of like the people who are abusing a diarrhea med and now I am reading they are wanting to change the rules so you have to show ID like with Sudafed and your DL is connected to the purchase and how many you buy is tracked.  ::)

I use direct deposit and i'm assuming if you use Paypal it's a choice to give that up. I don't know about swagbucks but Survey Junkie uses paypal and they give you an option to either provide your 2 of the three. Link and confirm your bank acct, social security #, or verify credit or debit info. Hope this helps.

Your bank account has your social. Depending on which account you have with PP you may be asked to provide a social.  If the acct is connected to your bank acct and you immediately transfer funds and you don't have the debit card or credit card with PayPal you don't have to provide a ss. Survey junkie does not ask you to provide 2 of 3 anything.  You provide an email for paypal.  SJ does not ask for a social security number.  Unless like this site you make over $600.  Also never been asked to confirm a credit card or debit card number.  If you gave that to them you may want to watch your finances very carefully.

So I assume you have never applied for a credit card?  You do know your social security number IS online - right?  If you have credit cards, a bank account, any of that stuff - ALL their stuff is online whether you access it online or not.  Same with filing taxes.  Do you file online?  Maybe you mail a paper in.  But the manually enter the info and the it is technically "online".

CountryGirl, Survey Junkie will ask for 2 of the three in order to USE Paypal. I looked it up yesterday. Do your research I know what i'm talkin about. In order to get a PayPal account you have to have a EMAIL account, yes.  Survey Junkie has updated their website and rules. Look it up. I want the person who had this question to have the right information.

I joined PayPal way back in 2012.  I think they did ask for my SS #, but not sure, it's been so long.  With FC you can get a paper check mailed to you or Direct Deposit, which goes right to your bank account.  Swagbucks does NOT do checks at all, SB's is either PP. or various Gift Cards, like Amazon, etc.   Personally I've always done PayPal with FusionCash.   :confused1:

I know what I am talking about to.  I use Survey Junkie.  I did not have to provide 2 of 3 of anything.  I actually have no idea what 2 of 3 is suppose to mean.  Survey Junkie asks for the same registration info this site does.  You name, address, birthday, and you provide your email associated with PayPal.

You said -  Link and confirm your bank acct, social security #, or verify credit or debit info.
And this is NOT correct.  I did not have to confirm a bank account, nor give a SS#, nor did I verify a credit or debit card.  That IS the correct information.  And FYI if people want "correct" info they go to the source not ask anonymous people on a forum some where.  Just sayin

The only reason i asked on here is because i didn't want to have to sign up for a account on Paypal and then regret it later.
Some of their answers did not make any sense to me
