Do you tip?  Do the both of you tip?  Or does the person who pays tip?

I give the tip if the other person pay the meals. But if that other person is a relative and knows that you are poor you may as well let them (grandparents always invite me eating out they always pay the meal and the tip) ;D

same here!

if someone is paying for me, i like to atleast offer to get
the tip (if i have any ones or a five). although, when i'm
paying, i don't expect the other person to get the tip
but will let them if they insist.

I think the person that paid has to give the tip, I do everytime I pay for food

If someone pays for the meal I always leave the tip. I think it's a nice way to show your appreciation for the free meal. Even if they leave a tip, I still add mine to it. If I pay I leave the tip.

For me my husband always pay the tip and if someone invite us and pay the bill my husband insists to pay the tip

I always leave a tip if someone pays for the meal, which isn't very often. When I go out with friends it's usually always dutch treat.

I was just in this situation.  Went out to dinner with a friend, she payed, so I tipped.  It's only polite.
