What are you doing?
« on: April 20, 2020, 07:22:50 am »
The weather is getting nicer.  After about 20 yrs, I finally got the back yard fenced in.  Soon will be able to open the back door and kick the dog and kids out.  Not have to worry about them as much.  The kids in the back yard leaves my front yard open to more planting.  I am looking forward to gardening this year.

I also am taking a sign language class on line.  Hope to get that done this week.

Wish everyone a good day.

I wish I had a backyard. I miss having my own outdoor space. We'll see how the housing market goes with this shutdown. We're hoping to buy a house in the fall.

Where are you learning sign language online? I would love to learn too!

What are you doing?

I am cutting out face masks to sew for our local hospital.  The patients are now receiving masks from the hospital.

I worked from home anyway so it's still business as usual, just not as much of it, so I have more time to do household things.

It sounds like you're keeping yourself busy with fun things! I am going to read up on gardening and see about buying a raised garden bed (can't get down on my knees due to arthritis). I just don't know if it's too late in the season, though maybe there are some veggies that can be planted in the next few weeks. I'm not sure, because I've always had a black thumb. Maybe I'll have more success with a veggie garden than I did with houseplants, LOL!  :peace:

We are under lock down where I live.
I have lots of time to learn new things.
And that is what I am doing!

Kind of funny but I seem to be busier now than I was prior to the outbreak. My third job has disintegrated until the outbreak is over and,  although they have been offering side jobs, I have been declining their kind offers so that others that depend on the cash can continue to work. My daytime job has been busier and my night  time/weekend job has been steady. My part time job closed for a day but I made up for the loss. I have helped a neighbor with his business and my try to incorporate this into my weekly routine because it gets me out from behind my desk. I have been providing support to my father who is in the hospital with double/bi lateral pneumonia. I have also been doing larger projects around the house like putting a flagstone patio in my front yard and I have plans to expand my waterfall in the next few weeks.

I am learning sign language from IOA.  purchased through Groupon.  I don't know if it counts for anything other than just having a certificate for passing the class. It's fun and interesting.

I wish it was easier to post responses in a way to answer each person in as to their post.  So I will try it this way.
1imaninarygirl.  The sign language is from a course from IOA that I purchased through Groupon.  I don't know that it counts for any college credits but it's fun.
jkhanson    That is so amazing for you to do that.  I don't have any talent to do something like that.  Thank you
pectacon.  I thought once I was able to work from home I would have the time to do more household things.  I have the time but no ambition.
gtdoss I like trying to see what I can grow from scraps.  I have a pretty good grasp on that now.  It is also very fun and rewarding.  I was able to grow broccoli from store bought food.  Other things also.  The broccoli impressed me.
ancmetro  I do like to learn new things.  As long as I am not tested on it.
Tressbn00 sorry about your Dad.  Wish him well.  Sounds like you are a very busy person.  Take time to enjoy some relaxing things also.

I am listening to Dave Ramsey while contributing to our glorious forum (go FC!) and working remotely using two computers. Multi-tasking at its best, LOL.

vg7405  Who is Dave Ramsey.  I think it's great that people can work from home.

I went for a walk last week and my legs and feet were sore because I haven't been going outside. So a few days ago I started exercising. It's been refreshing!
Opinion: 1) a view, judgment, or appraisal formed in the mind about a particular matter 2) belief stronger than impression and less strong than positive knowledge
This is the internet, learn to let people have opinions. And don't be so sensitive.  8)

Today, I am finishing up six face masks that I made for my daughter who will need them when she goes back to work.  I'm also having some up close and personal time with "How to Crochet" videos.  My grandson requested that I make some creatures from the Plants vs. Zombies game.  I am a knitter, not a crocheter, and I was able to find knit patterns for the pea shooter and sunflower, but I haven't been able to find a knit pattern for the zombie, only a crochet one.  I've done a little crocheting before, but it feels like I'm learning a new language.  Wish me luck!

We went to my mother-in-laws to put our her patio furniture and plant a few flower pots. Got groceries with our masks on.  Started working on the garden this week.  Its the one thing that saves me from an epic meltdown.
