Never experienced anything like this
« on: May 17, 2020, 02:46:47 pm »
I just don't get it.  I went to the store yesterday and no one hardly was wearing a mask or practicing social distancing and people were being rude.  I went in the early afternoon which as long as they have a senior hour in the early morning that is the only time I would go from now on.  People were leaning over me to get stuff instead of waiting a minute.  It was awful and definitely distressing.

Yeah, I don't really quite understand people not wearing their masks and social distancing at least for the time being. It's not like it's a difficult thing to do. And I will never, ever understand people who are rude to people they don't even know. I mean, I was raised to be polite and not get in people's space. I was brought up to be patient and wait until the other person moved on and then get the stuff I wanted.  :peace:

I saw a lot of people not wearing masks in Walmart, a few. They acting normal like nothing is going on. I'd rather be safe than sorry so I'm protecting myself.

See that goes both ways.  I will never understand the people wearing masks. Difference is I don't say anything about it. I don't make smart remarks under my breath and I don't glare at the people wearing them.  The CDC has said that a mask will not keep you from getting sick.  And what is more disgusting is the idiots wearing masks that walk out of the stores and rip that mask off and throw it down in the parking lots. SO somebody else has to pick up your nasty germ laden mask with their hands.

As for reaching and getting stuff, I personally, do not do anything any different than I always did.  If i need something I will get it and go on. Some people are as others have said, just as rude, just in a different way. You clearly can see someone is needing x item from near where you are so you stand there for 10 minutes trying to decide if you want orange jello or cherry jello.  If I know what I need I will say excuse me and get it and go on my way.  Most others are doing the same thing.  And MOST people in my area, if they see someone looking at something near where they are, if they are "looking" will ask did you need something or am I in your way and they will step back and let the person grab what they need and go on.

It is funny because we are clearly divided and more so that any thing else that has split our country.  The battle lines are drawn.  The sad thing is the scared mask wearers cannot see they are doing the same thing the accuse the ones who are just trying to live their lives of doing.  Most people in my town are pretty laid back and sane.  There are only a handful of people who are completely physco.  Quite a few wear masks but I see less all the time. Mostly it is employees and they wear them because they do not have a choice.

As for "social distancing" (a phrase I have come to hate) there is NO way to stay 6 feet away from every one else all the time.  And FYI a sneeze or cough can travel farther than 6 feet.  I mean can you see these germs flying through the air and saying "oh wait guys, this is 6 feet, we can't go any farther!"  ::)

That "mask" you are wearing is not protecting you. But if it makes you feel better then by all means wear one. Do some research on your own.  Esp the home made little piece of cloth masks.  They are not going to stop anything. But if it makes you feel more comfortable to wear one then I say wear it.  They have proved that these tiny germs are going right through the mask.

You most likely will not believe me and that is fine. But do some research on your own. Stop listening to the media's inflated scary numbers. THINK for yourself.  And you will realize it is not near as scary. It is like in my hometown when we had 1 case. It was 2 weeks before we had case 2. And it was totally unrelated to the first. The first had already recovered. But the news was saying our case count had increased by 100%.  THAT is all people could focus on.  When in reality we still only had 1 active case.  ::)

I have 2 cousins who are sisters. And the one in the medical field says it is over blown hype and the one who is not is terrified and wants everything to remain closed for ever. lol  I think that is funny that it is the exact opposite.

The virus is real.  So is the flu.  People die from the flu and nobody bats an eye.  Most people believe the virus is real.  What people are saying is not real is the over blown hype surrounding it.  Just think how scared people would be if they updated the flu stats by the hour....

UGH! This infuriates me. I can't believe so many masks and disposable gloves are just tossed on the ground. You're not helping anyone by wearing a mask if you're making others clean up after you. I'm not the kind of person that can just ignore litter when I see it.

I saw a woman and her teens go in Dollar Tree and the masks they had were recognizable. We went in about the same time and came out pretty close to the same time.  They came out in front of us.  When we came out their masks were laying on the ground.  I know our Walmart employees who work the parking lot were complaining about people throwing their masks on the ground.  I mean if you are going to jerk it off when you come out the door at least put it in the trash can.  People are also too stupid to grasp if you touch your mask to take it off your face you need to wash your hands.  ::)

I think if I worked some where that required cleaning parking lots or something like that I would refuse to touch something like this.  I also think if you throw your mask down and they know it is yours that the person who it belongs to should be charged with a crime more than littering.  If you are going to play this game that this is so dangerous then no one should have to touch your contaminated PPE.

The store manager won't do anything!  smh  You cannot stop people from walking by you in a store. You also cannot force people to wear a mask unless your state has a mandate or that specific store has one. If that is the case they stop people at the door.  As far as people walking by others no manager can nor will they do anything. People complain at our Walmart all the time and basically the manager pacifies the complainer just to get them to hush.  If I were that terrified of being close to other people I would just order stuff online and have it delivered.

I keep hearing people yell about masks. People need to do some research.  Every where including the cdc and the state health departments are saying the mask will not keep you from getting sick. It only keeps YOU from spreading the virus.  Maybe that is why I tend to shy away from people wearing a mask.

If you're afraid of getting sick, society is not the place for you. You should be free to stay home as long as you want (or can afford) but your fears don't trump my freedom. The gov has no right to mandate masks. This is not a monarchy. The people haven't voted these laws in. They're 'decrees' nothing more. And unconstitutional.
