you can buy a toilet lock. they are pretty easy in attach. buy it online or look @ lowes, home depot, babiesrus. Had the same problem with both kids. Make sure you keep t.p. out of reach too!

:) Better than a toilet lock is a bathroom door lock. The problem is not the toilet. The problem is the bathroom door. Lock the bathroom door. Open the door only when you are there to surpervise your kids.

I agree with ancmetro.  It would be good to get a lock for the bathroom door.  Since your daughter is active and inquisitive she will get into many things.  However, toilets can be deadly.  If she were to get the seat up and be splashing around in the toilet bowl water and lose her balance so that she loses her footing and falls head first into toilet, she could drown.

I had the same problem with my son and we had to invest in a toilet lock.  Worked wonders.  I was so good that the adults were locked out of the toilet also. ;D

locking the toilet is a good start but once she figures that out maybe a child gate from leaving your site that way you know where she is. :binkybaby:

Put down the toilet seat and keep the bathroom door closed!

Add a chain lock (like a safety lock)  at a high level of your door so she can't reach and open the door. No adults should get locked. Open/Close on the outside.

Make sure the door opens only two or three inches with the chain luck. Not too much so she doesn't get her head stuck.
