The Importance of Population Control
« on: September 03, 2020, 06:06:25 am »
Family planning and slower population growth have a positive impact on nearly all 17 of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Planet and population are reaching tipping points we must address.  Here are the goals, and as you read them, you will see about the importance as you think about the world in general:

1. No poverty
2. Zero hunger
3. Good health and well-being
4. Quality education
5. Gender equality
6. Clean water and sanitation
7. Affordable and clean energy
8. Decent work and economic growth
9. Industry, innovation, and infrastructure
10. Reduced inequalities
11. Sustainable cities and communities
12. Responsible consumption and production*
13. Climate action
14. Life below water
15. Life on land
16. Peace, justice, and strong institutions
17. Partnerships for the goals

Family planning through abstinence and responsible action is always a welcome and wonderful thing. Family planning through abortion, on the other hand, is about as hypocritical as Nancy Pelosi apologizing for getting "set up" by a hair salon.

But I cannot agree that population control has much bearing on some of those considerations you've listed. I will admit that I do not know what some of the goals actually mean.

How does decreased population growth positively impact [4] the quality of education, [5] gender equality ([10]or other inequality), [16] peace & justice (just to pick out a select few)?

I know many here dont care.

God promised the earth would be inhabited forever. He gave mankind the ability to have children.Dontcha think before the world got over-populated he would do something about that?

Remember he told A&E to be fruitful when they were created.

Many just dont have a clue until they face hardship or their last breath and then say,"God help me".

I also agree with family planning.  People should be more responsible and not have more children than they can afford to support and feed.  I was responsible and only had 1 child which I took total responsibility for (no government assistance).  I worked 2 jobs to raise her and put her thru college.  Other people on government assistance seem to be multiplying like rabbits.  I'm all for helping out the needy family, but why should I have to pay to support families that choose not to use birth control and have too many kids?

I believe if you can afford them, have kids.  We wanted to have 3 to 4 kids when we got married.  We were going to work and guarantee each child things the needed, but would not have a $1000 coat, but would never want for anything important.  Unfortunately it didn’t work out that way, and God only gave us 2 children, who we love to death.  I agree I resent having to pay to support your kids when you continually have them.  If you can’t afford kids, don’t have them, some families have 8, 9, 10 and no real income.

Agree that education on family planning plays a very important role as well as elevating living standards.

He hasn't done something about a lot of things.  That's why he provided free will and brains!

That is really an ignorant remark to a serious issue!  But it's what I would expect from some.

It isn't about telling anybody, although China certainly did when they saw the pace of population was going to outrun their ability to feed their country.  It's about limited, finite resources on this planet and exponentially expanding population globally.  At some point, it will need to be seriously addressed if we want to continue to live as we would want.
And, if there are as you say, "1000s" of abortions, many women must want one for whatever personal reasons they have.

I would have to look into these goals specifically, but a little common sense starts with resources that can be applied in each situation.

A tenant has free will and has decided to break the rules from everything his landlord told him.He gets evicted.

Do you really think a loving God will put up with ALL the rubbish on earth? In his eyes its only goin on 6 days from his timetable. His patience gives many a chance to conform and not be destroyed. If he allowed all this nonsense to continue forever it wouldnt be saying much about him.I dont think a God that didnt care would send his son to earth to die an  excruciating humiliating death for nothing.

8 However, do not let this escape your notice, beloved ones, that one day is with Jehovah* as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day.+ 9 Jehovah* is not slow concerning his promise,+ as some people consider slowness, but he is patient with you because he does not desire anyone to be destroyed but desires all to attain to repentance.+ 10 But Jehovah’s* day+ will come as a thief,+ in which the heavens will pass away+ with a roar,* but the elements being intensely hot will be dissolved, and earth and the works in it will be exposed.+

From 2nd Peter 3:8-9

BTW i know U could care less RE bible and God.Others are reading this too.
