That sounds about right, we have two adults and 4 kids and we spend at least 3-400 a month.

With me, a room mate and 4 cats we rescued, I'd estimate we spend around $300 a month.  The cat food and treats are more expensive than the human food. lol

I try to shop for the month and plan my meals and then I go home and like to prepare the groceries so that I will eliminate any prep time.

It's ridiculous how much money we have to spend on groceries. Before I used to go to the supermarket and spend no more than probably 75 dollars and I got a lillte bit of everything. Now you can't get nothing for that amount!!
I also spend from 100-250 each month and we are only 3 in the house.  :angry7: :dontknow:

It's really a shame when you look at the food that you do buy and realize that you didn't get that much meat or extra stuff for snacks/treats. Then you have to add in all the household items...laundry soap, paper items, shampoo! It's crazy how much it costs just to survive each month.

We shop once a week and spend around $150 per week on food. It's for a family of 3, but we have so many friends that decide to stay for dinner or a few days so I normally estimate it as a family of 6. Lol.

I cant tell you what we spend every month but about twice a year we stock up on non parishable items and spend about 400 and that includes a meat bundle that we freeze. the meat is 150 along. But on top of that i would have to say that we spend maybe 150 on everything that is always needing to be replaced every month. thats higher during the winter months because i dont have my farmer markets to get better prices on fresh fruits and veggies.

we also have a garden and preserve alot of what we grow. right now i have 3 freezers full of food. we have the largest freezer that they sell on the markets today and the other are smaller but both bigger than an apartment size chest freezer

Between my daughter and I, I probably spend around $200 a month on groceries. Maybe less. I don't really budget groceries.

I don't know how much exactly is just for food (I've never sat and divided the actual costs up), but food, beauty supplies, cleaning supplies, and general household items all come to about $500-600 a month.  We only go maybe twice a month, tops, as I strongly believe the less you have to go, the less you'll end up spending a month.  If you plan out dinners, make lists, and stay focused on what you need, along with using coupons, I believe you can keep costs down a good deal.
