Solid State Computers
« on: October 04, 2020, 01:20:33 pm »
Anybody bought a new computer that is solid state?  I am on the verge of getting a new laptop sometime soon (have been for the past 6 months-LOL) and am curious about how these solid state ones are.  I hear they are faster and do not become infected as easily.

Solid state drives are faster, more reliable, and use less power than a hard disk drive, because they don't have moving parts that eventually wear down and break. I've never heard anything about SSDs and viruses though. I don't see how they would be any more resistant to malware and viruses than an HDD.

I'm also planning on getting a laptop soon. Most of the ones I've looked at have SSDs, and HDDs are not even an option anymore.

This sounds good about the Solid State Computer, because I need another Laptop.  The present one just have the cursor jumping all over the place and it will erase info that I have typed in.  My number pad doesn't work at all.  I am just tired of its antics.
