President Joe Biden’s administration will extend requirements for travelers to wear masks on airplanes, trains, and in transit hubs through April 18 as public health authorities review when requirements should be dropped, according to administration officials.  >:( >:( >:( >:(  :confused1: :confused1: :sad1: :silly: :BangHead: :angry7: :binkybaby: :bs: :crybaby2: :dontknow:

I was in Miami on my way to the airport this past Monday when the mask mandate was overruled by a Florida federal judge. I saw the news alert come across my phone while en route. I fly about once every 8-10 years or so - but that frequency might change in the future. I knew it wouldn't affect our flight, but I think by Tuesday many of the airlines had lifted their mask restrictions.

I was surprised (unless I missed it) that there weren't a lot of videos of unruly passengers refusing to wear masks on Monday after that ruling came down but before the airlines implemented the ruling.

How about if YOU personally want to wear a mask, then please do so. The rest of us should be able to choose for ourselves.

I’ve flown with a few different carriers, and honestly I’ve had some of my best experiences with Southwest Airlines. Their free checked bags policy and generally friendly service make a big difference compared to others. When I’ve needed to get help, contact southwest airlines directly was also pretty straightforward, which isn’t always the case with airlines. United has its perks too, but for day-to-day domestic travel I usually lean toward Southwest.
