Jul 6, 2021"The long-term side effects of COVID infection are a major concern," Goepfert said. "Up to 10 percent of people who have COVID experience side effects such as difficulty thinking, pain, tiredness, loss of taste and depression. We don't know why that is, how long these symptoms will last or if there are effective ways to treat them.

Oct 22, 2021COVID-19 can make blood cells more likely to clump up and form clots. While large clots can cause heart attacks and strokes, much of the heart damage caused by COVID-19 is believed to stem from very small clots that block tiny blood vessels (capillaries) in the heart muscle.

As an added joyful note, I heard on the radio this morning that the blood clots can become so big that they have to be pulled out manually. Don't shoot the messenger, but this sounds unbelievably scary.

According to the American Red Cross, the risk of catching a virus or any other blood-borne infection from a blood transfusion is very low. All donated blood is thoroughly tested for HIV. There is a 1 in 2 million chance that donated blood will not only carry HIV but also infect a transfusion recipient. The odds of catching hepatitis B from donated blood is about 1 in 300,000. The risk with hepatitis C is 1 in 1.5 million. The risk of catching West Nile Virus from a blood transfusion is approximately 1 in 350,000.

in 2017, of the 17 million blood transfusions, 37 patients died as a direct result, according to the Food and Drug Administration. Most died of allergic reactions or other complications, but in five cases the patients received platelets contaminated with bacteria, and in seven cases patients were given the wrong blood type.

I think those odds are pretty good.

Well, I believe in Christ and the bible, and My bible doesn't say anything about giving or receiving blood transfusions. Leviticus law does talk about eating blood. It is Old Testament law, which we are no longer bound by since Christ put away the old law.

You asked a question, I answered it truthfully by researching for an answer.. Evidently, you didn't like the answer or believe in truth. As time goes by, I've noticed your posts are getting meaner and more insulting to others DonnaMarg. Give it up. What does it say in the Bible about attitude?  I think you need an adjustment  You spout the Bible all the time but don't follow it so you don't have to answer that question. I don't want to be insulted any further.  I've done quite a bit of bible study with JW and I don't preach or try to force others to accept my views. You should learn a little about that.

What's your belief on the covid vaccine? Anything that would reduce your need for a blood transfusion would be good, right?

I support the vaccine even tho i am NOT vaccinated.I wont lie,i am afraid of a reaction.I am strong on building an immune system and following the mask and social distance rulz.I have been safe so far.Taking it a day at a time.

My spouse has been vaccinated. She had Covid 2 yrs ago and was quite sick.Shes been OK to this day so far.She got a reaction to 2nd shot 102 fever but it subsided fast.I gave her some oil of oregena and maybe that helped.

The JWs support the vaccine, masks, social distancing and cleanliness.

Blood is a NO NO.Use other alternatives if necessary. The bible backs up what they say how God feels about it.

Hope i answered you and thanx for asking.

I certainly wish you'd make up your mind on if you are a JW or not. You speak out on the JW views on what you can and can't do according to the bible but you believe anyone else who studied with JW is only a Republican. You don't make sense. You either are or aren't a JW.  You don't vote so in reality, you have no right to complain about any politician. Double speak is your mantra. LOL

[/quote]Seriously,are you that blind you have to ask what my stance is with JWs?Ask UGP,at least he knows if you have read his posts.

You should talk as well. You TRY to say things or meanings from the bible and then say you studied with JWs,and have crushed the Dems and Biden.LOL!!Plain as day Trump is a POS!!!

I have a lot of interest in political cos lots of it is related to bible prophecy, but i dont expect you to know that.

And you tell me not to complain and you do and then get a pass cos you vote?LOL!!!

Over the yrs we have put up a lot of bible instruction and glad we did.I always knew there would be a conflict here and there.Jesus warned to be prepared the world would hate you on his account.

You dont have to read or comment what i have to say.

BTW,you say you studied with JWs so you shoulda knew their views on blood.I guess you didnt learn too much from them or didnt agree what they say even tho the scriptures are right there in broad daylight what God had to say RE blood.
