Off-Topic / Re: 3 countries warned against traveling to US

I was at work when I over heard a few girls bashing the president over what some other countries had said.  I tried turning it off because it just upsets me.  I have seen and heard the worst ignorance come out of some people when it comes to worldly views.  If I were to voice my opinion with hatred as they do everyone would just be rioting against one another.

When I have time and nothing to do all day I'll do whatever I can all day.  Naturally I try and do the shortest surveys for the most $$$ but in the end as long as I get the five cents for paid to click I'm a happy girl.

I have eaten in my bed before.  I would rather eat at the dining room table.  With my family gathered around.  Talking and catching up.  Now there is only 1 child left at home that's on a regular schedule for meals.  So eating with her when I'm home from work is always looked forward to.

I think you did the right thing.  You're reward will certainly be more than $20 too.  The lesson you taught your daughter was certainly worth a lifetime of what doesn't belong to us isn't meant for us to call our own.  Hopefully the employee that popped it in there pocket later filed it with the rest of the office monies.  Often there is a donation of some sort that X corporation contributes to.  Who knows?  You allocated the loose cash where it should have gone... now it's up to a supervisor to do the next best thing.

Same with me.  There has been one that was going and it was going pretty well even after declaring conservative.  It never came to a conclusion.  It might have been a Tap survey because I remember receiving credit.  For all I know that could have been full credit upon completion?

Oh my gosh - I just said last night... Last day of July?  What?  It didn't even feel like we've had any summer this year.  With all the rain and wonky weather I feel like we've been jiped out here in the Midwest..

Right on right on countrygirl12! I had not heard of this story.  Sadly it's not the first nor will it be the last shooting. I don't know the facts of the story - or the individual for that matter.  But, I couldn't agree with you more in regard to your "we might hurt his feelings" statement.  The world today enables the woe is me'ers and then things like this happen.  It has nothing to do with gun laws. I grew up in a household with guns.  May of them weren't locked up.  Dad was hunter and Mom grew up during war times in Germany.  I knew the guns were there... I was taught not to touch them.  When I was old enough I was taught how to handle them.  And when I broke rules I was disciplined appropriately...  My parents had 5 children.  We never grabbed a gun and went shooting people when things didn't go our way.

I've never been to a family reunion.  My sisters have gone to one before but I wasn't able to get away.  At the time my sister and her husband owned a restaurant. They brought food there..cooked and served it.  It must have been held in an American Legion building or something.   What you have planned sounds like a getaway - I hope I get a surprise invite from a long lost family member.

Nope haven't seen it.  But I've heard nothing but good things about it.  I did however see Dumbo and Toy Story - I would recommend em both.  Hakuna Matata!

One of my pet peeves is when I'm closing the department at work.  We share a sink with another department.  I usually leave 1-2 hours before they do.  Sometimes I'll take all there stuff out of the sinks...drain em, clean em out and start filling them up so I have clean water.  I'll step out onto the sales floor or work on other tasks while the water is filling... then someone from the other department comes in and drops there nasty stuff into the water I was just preparing for myself.  urGH!!! Redo!

I went on a sugar free cheesecake kick a while ago.  If I eat sweets I try and keep them as light as I can.  I'm a glutten for all things chocolate and sweet.  Not to mention I work in a bakery.  Professionally I always have a pastry bag in my hand so temptation surrounds me.  If what you described was in front of me I wouldn't be able to control myself.

My kids have been on both sides of the fence through all of there school careers.  There was a time they had a choice in eating the school lunch or bringing there lunch from home.  Than we had a life changing event and they ate school lunches for FREE through the state.  They never complained about it.  It seemed most of the surrounding students were also on the same program so they didn't know the difference.  As I got back on my feet my older kids had graduated and my youngest was dropped from the program.  She's so funny - I let her pick 4 school lunches per month.  Most weeks she'd rather bring her own lunch since the food is less to be desired. (I'm okay with that) i can't imagine foster care being a threat over lunch money dues.  How could it have gotten so out of hand to begin with?

We rarely have windows open.  I understand when it's allergy season but any other time I enjoy the fresh air.  We rarely even have blinds open in our bedroom.  One side has a peeping Tom.  I guess you can never be to careful.

Remember that tv show.  Kids say the darndest things?  I wish there was more stuff like that on these days.  I work in a bakery - in retail.  I'll make some things that are just adorable and ploys for attention getters for kids.  Kids will say to there parents ... I want that cupcake, cookie, brownie (whatever it may be) and the parent will say but it's white cake... or it's buttercream and you don't like that.  And the kid will say but I like .... whatever character or style is on the cake.  And that's all that matters to them.

My go to for quick energy is snickers original or peanut M&M's.  I kind of validate them by having nuts in them.  Since I'm allergic to tree nuts, the peanut is my legume of choice.  I'm a chocoholic so I'll likely eat anything if it's offered.
