I don't know if this exists or not, but I'm thinking it probably doesn't. Also, is it a good idea? We already have so many people in the world; why would we want to "create" more? Sometimes I think that scientists in this field are just interested in making a name for themselves (or their country), and aren't really thinking about the consequences of this field if it actually worked. jmho...  :peace:

We had taco salad tonight for supper, which was delicious! But earlier this week we had blackberry and sage pork chops, Ina Garten's garlic herb roasted potatoes, and green beans. My youngest son prepares this supper, and it's one of our favorites!  :peace:

I also think it's a fine old tradition, especially if the couple can choose not to marry and be matched with other people. You hear about in the old days that people (especially woman) were forced by their parents to marry whoever they were matched with. But these days it's actually a pretty good thing to use a matchmaker who can connect people with similar religious and moral backgrounds (if that's what they're looking for) and similar tastes, etc.  :peace:

I used Facebook a little bit when it first became popular, but then I got tired of it pretty quick. I guess I don't need to know what everyone is doing, even those I'm friends or family with, are doing all the time, and I'm pretty sure they're not that interested in every little thing I'm doing either. I guess it's because I'm from a different generation (Baby Boomer), and we tend to hold things closer (like what we're doing at any given time) closer to the vest.   :peace:

Off-Topic / Re: Do you enjoy Board Games?

I've never really liked board games, not even when I was a kid. I was more of a card games person. When my kids were young, I bought board games here and there for them to play. Being the the good parents we are, my husband and I would play the board games with them. I always had fun when we did that, but then I'd kind of dread when the boys would bring those board games back out again, LOL!  :peace:

When I was about 5 years old, my parents got divorced, a very bitter and acrimonious divorce. My brother and I would see our dad every Sunday, and every once in a while he'd take us to a movie. When we'd go to the concession stand he'd say, "You can have popcorn or you can have Coke, but you can't have both, because it'll make you sick to your stomach." Well, I believed that for a very, very long time. As a matter of fact, I was an adult going to the movies with my mom and I said, "Mom, don't order popcorn and Coke together, because it'll give you an upset stomach." She said, "That's nonsense! Who told you that?" I said, "It was Dad." And then she said, very bitterly, "That's because he was too cheap to buy both!"  :peace:

We had homemade Brunswick stew and loaf bread this evening. My husband makes it every once in a blue moon from his mom's ages old recipe. It takes a lot of work to put it together because there's so many different ingredients, but I love it every time we have it!  :peace:

My husband sharpens our knives with a non-electric knife sharpener, kind of a little handheld gadget with two silver disks you pull the knife through over and over. I have to leave the room when he does it, because it sounds like fingernails on a blackboard to me, LOL!  :peace:

We had bratwurst, cornbread, purple hull peas, corn, and steamed cabbage for supper. That's what I like to call a Country Supper, and we really love it! I've cut some bread out of my meals, so I didn't have the cornbread, just the peas and corn. Delicious!  :peace:

I had a hard time finding yeast at Walmart, too! I finally made a special trip to Publix to get it. I think you're right and a lot of people are taking up bread-making. Also, I've never used any kind of delivery service for my groceries. No paid shopper will be as picky as I am about my produce, meat, and dairy! Plus, I'm way too cheap to pay extra for groceries.  :peace:

I'm in the position that I can avoid most drama, as I am working out of my home and only go out for groceries. My husband and two grown boys are pretty low-key, so it's very peaceful around here. I've always tried to steer well clear of negative people, but sometimes you are in situations where it's hard to avoid them. Good luck!  :peace:

I have a bad feeling that our family (my husband, my two boys, and I) will not be able to meet with our extended family for the holidays this year because of COVID-19. My stepfather is rather elderly, and none of want to take any chance of infecting him. The thought of not having the big family get together is really disappointing. But you never no; maybe things will clear up a lot by then.  :snowman: :turkey: :peace:

I have a wonderful cat (avatar picture from when he was a kitten. We adopted a cat (named him Spike) when we first got married 25 years ago. He lived to be about 14, and after he died, we waited for about 6 years to get another cat, because we were so sad about the loss of Spike. So we adopted Tinker as a kitten, and I don't think I've loved any other cat as ferociously as I do him!  :cat: :peace:

I've never been an avid shopper. My mom was, though. She and my grandmother and my aunts would go shopping together every once in a while, even if it was just to window shop. They would even go out at 5 am for Black Friday shopping (25 years ago and more). She'd ask me if I wanted to come with them for Black Friday shopping every year, and I'd always say, "No, thanks!"  :peace:

We had one of our favorite suppers this evening: beef kofta meatballs, roasted vegetables, rice, and a great tahini sauce. I just end up putting the roasted veggies (zucchini, yellow squash, red onion, white button mushrooms, grape tomatoes) and the meatballs on top of my rice and then drizzle the whole thing with the tahini sauce. Delicious! My whole family gets into making this supper.  :peace:
