headaches

I have had a headache for the last 7 days... I think it is a tension headache.. .Anyone else suffer from these? any advice?

Make sure you drink plenty of water, eat well-balanced meals and get enough sleep. Also try taking something like Tylenol or Alleve.

Your headaches  could be caused by a lot of stress.  But if its been more than 7 days you should think about seeing a doctor to rule out anything else that  maybe causing the headaches.

I do, I sympathize. Been dealing with migraines for the past 6 years.
Lots of water, migraine medication, sleep it off.

i tend to get frequent headaches too, but none that
have lasted as long as yours    eep. i've had them last
for nearly 24 hours, but 7 days doesn't sound normal...

i've heard of these masks you can get, which basically
works like an ice pack, but targets the pressure points.
they are filled with gel and you keep in the fridge to chill
it, and then wear it while lying down. i've always meant
to look into it...

I used to get tension headaches a lot when I went really heavy on the caffeine. If I get one down I try to lay back a relax, use some heat (take a hot bath/shower, heat pack). But one that last for a week you may want to go talk to a doctor.

If you would prefer a more naturalistic approach try feverfew tea.

Anything with Ibuprofen, Advil works good for me!! I also get pretty tensed most of the time and get a lot of headaches mostly every day.  Actually drinking water, for me, makes it worse.

Something else just came to mind, have you considered it might be your sinuses? Last year I had the worst headache ever. Just this constant tension. So I went on the internet looking for options and came across sinus headaches. Just a build of mucus. After that I drained my sinuses and the pressure was gone, it was amazing.

Thanks for all the advice...the headache seems to have been sinus related, though i had never had a headache like that with previous sinus issues. I appreciate your thoughts!

I would get those for years i say take some Excedrin migraine or Tension headache and darkness and quiet helps for me

    Have your blood pressure checked! Avoid greasy and salty foods. It could be stress related...avoid situations that upset you. Take water pills to eliminate some excessive water. And finally, take some vitamins supplements.

If your headache is something that recent, it may due to lack of sleep. I usually have the super headache when I'm not sleeping well or not sleeping at all. The second thing to look for is any unusual food consumption. If you have been eating something out of the ordinary, double check to make sure that you are not allergic to it.
Take excedrine for the headache. It's the best! It's sort of like taking midol for you know when.

I get them frequently.  I have found that if I put my heating pad around the base of my head where the tension is that it loosens it up and provides some relief.

Agree with Candimoney.  I get cluster headeaches....very bad...
