Can't say I ever did
Don't know if I'll stay at home
Might have to take a gig

Tomorrow means another day
Got to go to sea
But then I'll get to play
No telling who I'll see

When You Write A Poem

You are not very much
like a shepherd,
guarding the images
and metaphors,
and keeping them in line.
You are more like the sheep,
who's wandered away
into a forest.

After a few hours,
dusk settles
and you roll yourself tight
into a ball of wool,
shivering at the cold
and the howling of wolves.
But it's not too long
until the metaphor comes,
calling your name
and carrying a thick rod.
He'll bring you home
to the other sheep,
where, hopefully, you'll stay,
after he breaks your legs.

I have two dogs that I love very much.
They are soft and cuddly to the touch.
I walk them each and every day.
I even spend time with them and play.
They love to watch the squirrels on the fence.
They just sit and stare in suspense.
They love to get treats all the time.
They are the very best dogs and they are all mine.

My son obviously thinks that's a sin.
If it's not my son it's the cat.

Really, I was typing up a poem and Butters jumped up on my keyboard looking for love.  He does it quite often when I play World of Warcraft, so I figured I'd make the poem about him.

I like to make money,
to fuel my compulsive eating habit.
I decided to talk to a chinchilla,
and he told me that I should floss.

I wondered into the local convenience store.
And bought some tomatoes and advil.
When it occurred to me that,
the local convenience store was closed.
