Blue-Ray definitely. We have a PS3 connected to our 45-inch HD-TV and I have to tell you that the depth and striking intensity of the colors along with the high-definition encryption of the Blue-Ray movies we rent is simply phenomenal.
HD alone is great for cable and satellite TV and some DVDs, but if you really crave the movie-and-popcorn experience in you living room, there is nothing like a great film like Robin Hood or The Expendables on Blue-Ray to make your evening rock. Whoo-Hoooo!!!!!

I honestly don't know yet.   :dontknow:  I've only been watching DVD.  I just got a laptop recently that can play Blu-ray, and have my first Blu-ray/DVD combo movie on order, so I'm anxious to test it out.

I may have to compare the difference on my laptop as it's screen is HD capable, and my regular TV is not a flat screen, so I don't know if I'll see much of a difference there.

I prefer anything with better resolution than standard DVDs, but I haven't bothered with blu-ray, because a new format will come along in just a few years.

Well it seems to me that Bluray is another idea to get consumers money because Bluray dvds wont play on regular tvs so right now I'll say dvd.  But when I buy a bluray tv that may change.  I have send the pic on one and the clarity is awesome.

I know Bluray is so much better but I'm stuck on my DVD's. Too many movies and just really don't have time to watch anything anymore.

Clarification for you: There are no Blueray TVs. :BangHead: What you want is an HD-TV connected to a Blue-Ray DVD Player or a PS3, which has a Blue-Ray Player built in.

I like both. Bluray is good for action and cgi/animated movies. However, I prefer to watch most movies on standard dvd because you see more than you want to see of your favorite actors using bluray. I don't like seeing makeup lines and sweat pouring down their faces. It takes away from the magic of movies and television if you see every zit or blemish on your favorite actors as well as the way it is covered up.

I'm sticking with DVDs personally until the cost of Blu Ray players and discs comes down.

We dont have blue ray yet. those are a little expensive for my taste. When we got our gaming console we waited for the money to come down. Probably will do the same here unless they stop making dvds for the dvd players.

DVD - we still watch tapes. No point in getting rid of those - just waste more money on the DVD copy. Probably won't get the blue ray until we absolutely have to.

Bluray can be nice.
But as with DVD, the encoding is pesky.
Can't fast forward through the commercials and whatnot.
Why bother buying the movie if you're forced to watch it like in a theater?

Rip it...rip it good.
