I don't have a TV in the bedroom so I never have the TV on when I sleep at night. However if I take a nap on the couch occassionally I will forget to turn off the show I am watching and it will keep playing. I prefer no TV on when I sleep but I can sleep if it is on.

Personnally, I need everything off except a fan, and that is for "white noise". I was in the army for 10 years and I can only fall asleep if something sounds like a tank engine running (I was a tanker). Now, can some one tell me how to post a new message. All I can do is reply to messages.

I used to sleep with the tv on, and I actually found it relaxing.  Now that I have kids, I sleep with it off, because I need complete silence! LOL

I used to fall asleep with it on when I was a teenager.  Now, I don't bother with it.  When I go to bed, I'm generally asleep when my head hits the pillow.

I would never be able to get good sleep with the TV on. I can doze if I'm really tired but I still wake up frequently to see what's going on. Even white noise keeps me awake because my brain is trying to make sense of it.

I wanted the tv off when i'm sleeping, but my bf can't sleep when it's too quite. So the tv always on in low volume and i turned it off when he's asleep.

Same here.. I get a headache if I fall asleep with the tv on.. and hubby has to sleep with it on.. Good thing I am up most of the night.. I swear if I go to turn it off... he wakes up!!!  It drives me nuts!!!!

So I am either here.. or making more hats and scarves for the cold weather.
