Oh NO! I'm so sorry! I went through two of them when I was younger and I hope never, ever again! Ever since going through those two, I make sure I drink at least 10 cups of water each day. I never want to experience that again.

Kidney stones are a horror!  Sadly they tend to happen repeatedly once they start.  i have a lot of family history with the stones.  Though my worst experience was an actual kidney infection--talking hospital, fevers, lots of fun.  I personally don't remember much, the best drugs are served via IV.

Increased water intake may help reduce the risk of recurrence of kidney stones but more studies are needed
Kidney stones (also known as calculi) are masses of crystals and protein and are common causes of urinary tract obstruction in adults. For a long time, increased water intake has been the main preventive measure for the disease and its recurrence. In this review only one trial was found that looked at the effect of increase water intake on recurrence and time to recurrence. Increased water intake ... more
A kidney stone is a solid mass made up of tiny crystals. One or more stones can be in the kidney or ureter at the same time.

:oKidney stones are common. Some types run in families. They often occur in premature infants.
There are different types of kidney stones. The exact cause depends on the type of stone.
Stones can form when urine contains too much of certain substances. These substances can create small crystals that become stones. The stones take weeks or months to form.

I have had a few kidney stones, they were calcium based. If you're getting stones often you might want to get one analyzed. Mine were calcium based and no amount of drinking water or not drinking soda or coffee or diet would have reduced the frequency of stones. I went and got tested and there was a high amount of calcium in my blood stream. Went to a specialist and the determined that I had hyperthyroidism. Its when a parathyroid (we have 4 of them) is stuck on the on position cause the body to be flooded with a hormone. That hormone tells the cells along the bones to leech calcium into the blood stream, and all that calcium goes some where.. in my case the kidneys. Got the bad parathyroid removed and stones went away!! :)

You can find me hanging out on Google :)

My pastor had kidney stones, I remember somebody saying to drink a certain juice to break them out, but I forgot which juice. You might want to do some research on that. Hope it helps.
