DO you get scared to go to doctor?

DO u get scared to go to the doctor? I have to say I sometimes do especially when you dont listen to your doctor so about a year ago i was told to take this pill everyday and to see them in 3 months well i was going through a hard time so did for about a month and thats it, its a year later and i called to make appointment i go tomorrow and am scared the doctor will get mad i didnt listen to her and want to start again

Yeah, everytime i have to go to a new Dr. My blood pressure goes up. I think if you are doing ok without the drug, maybe you didn't really need it. I had a dr. give me a drug and i took it a couple of days and really felt funny, went back to him and he just told me to keep taking it and i would get use to it. Got a second opinoin and i didn't need it. Go figure.

i get scared about any surgerys i need done or the doctor suggests i have done. i miscarried a couple of months back and the doctor wanted to do a dnc but i didnt want to coz there was no baby to be seen at all.. NOTHING! my hormones were going down and thats what they were supposed to be doing so i didnt want to force my body to do anything. so, i have been spotting again and i havent had my period so i'm thinking my pregnant again but i have no idea until i go back to the dr.

Yes, I am scared to go to the doctor. I am scared of the bill too. I do not have much confindence in most doctors. It is hard to find a good one. It is hard to find one that cares. I do not like taking drugs and experiencing all the side effects. I do not like to go to the doctor at all. I hardly trust them.

With having 5 eye surgerys last year I am at the eye dr  or the eye specialist on a regular basis.

I wouldn't say scared, but I am skeptical that they can actually fix what is wrong.  After 2 botched surgeries I don't really trust them anymore.

...not to mention I've been sick with something for the past 5 months and I've been to a bunch of doctors and none of them have any idea what is going on.  They all say "you are fine."

Nah, but I do get annoyed.  I need to find a new doctor because the one I have now is a quack.

I don't really get scared to go to the doc.  I just don't like going unless I actually have something wrong with me that I can't treat on my own. That way Im not clogging up the doctors and I don't get charged for simple things that can be treated with otc stuff.

No, b/c one they work for us and two we are all human and make mistakes (such as not following dr.'s orders)

Not at all - but that may be partly because I never go to the doctor.

It depends on why I am going. I get scared if I think there is something wrong with me and I am afraid of the worse case scenario. I  think my most common fear is the type of exam they are doing. Will it be painful? Will it be uncomfortable? Will I freak out and embarrass myself in front of everybody? Just thinking about some of the tests they perform gives me the creeps. What I try to do is tell myself that whatever test they have in store for me can't be as bad as letting whatever could be wrong with me get worse. I also tell myself that if everything is okay at least I can be comforted by that fact, and can tell myself the worst of it is over. When I go to a new doctor I'm always a bit nervous. Every doctor does things a little differently, and what can be considered a walk in the park for one can be a trial for another. Bedside manner and knowing your patient can have a great effect on whether or not you will be afraid when you go. The best advice I can give is to tell yourself that at the end of the day, the test will be over and you will know what your next step is, if there is even one at all.

Yes! I am a scaredy cat    They always tell me I have WHITE COAT HYPERTENSION    I get so tense.  I'm not sure why but every doctor I see I feel the same way.  I guess I fear they may find something terrible.  I have had a few problems over the years that gave me a big scare but Praise the Lord in the end all was well.  I am going to the dr tomorrow (gynecologist .... yuck)  I just did the medical doctor last week.  Next will be a mammogram and a colonoscopy .... now that has me shaking in my boots

I'm going to the hospital today to get my right flank checked, I dont mind I LOVE my Dr!!

I never got scared going to the doctor. There is no need for that. After all, they are there to help us not hurt us.
