Do you think it's still ok for a man to hold the door open for a woman... OR does that cut into your independence?

Ask the women here what "line" has ever worked on them.  If they tell you, (rather than a long spiel about doing this politely or that respectfully, etc.), remember that there are few - if any - generic lines which will work every time (or even 51%+ of the time).  For instance, humor often works unless it comes across as an obvious "line".  'Accidentally' flashing a LearJet timeshare card while fishing in your wallet around a large roll of cash works on most gold-diggers but, not all, etc..
One can lead a horse to water however, if one holds the horse's head under, that horse will drown.

Maybe offering a sincere compliment would be a good start if you can be "real" about it.

One thing that I find repulsive is when someone tosses out a "pick-up line" that's all about manipulation.

I like guys who are vulnerable enough to be who they are without "putting on" some superficial behavior and it has nothing to do with what they do...or don't have...

in their wallet.

Have a great day!

Yeah, lots of guys have heard something directly along those lines before and if the woman expressing such sentiments are willingly to do what they're asking of men, it'd good for all involved.  However, when I was younger, I'd 'test' that theory by saying something, "that's such a relief to hear - no games, no pretense ... and hey, you'll even pay for my dinner because it's not all about how much money I have, right?"

The more honest ones would pay, rather than be hypocrits.  Some would offer to pay but, say they didn't bring money, (that's a 'tell' too).  The less honest ones would try to joke it off, say stuff about being not being 'gentlemanly' or some such, (and not pay).  Still others might become indignant, try to shift the any anger at the exposure of their own hypocrisy onto their date and may even leave, (sticking their more honest date with the check, depending on when the 'mutually-honesty' thing comes up - which oftentimes means that she wants you to be completely sincere while she's exempt from that).  No doubt such 'honest' ladies as are extant can come up with other excu ... er, "reasons" to explain such behaviour.
One can lead a horse to water however, if one holds the horse's head under, that horse will drown.

When I was walking across campus a guy said "Hey you dropped something" and when I went to look back he said "your smile"
That was cute.  :)
"Are your legs tired, because you've been running through my mind all day." -That was a favorite of a guy I used to date.

Do you believe in love at first sight, or should I go out and come in again?

Keep it simple: Hi, how are you today? A pick up line is exactly what it suggest, however, they seldom work, because women see them from a mile away. Be genuine, honest and don't try so hard.

You can use any lines or ice breakers you want, but if you look at her *bleep* and legs or look at her like a hungry wolf, then nothing wlll work, you'll see her walk away.
Just approach her and say hi  my name is.....{type bame here}. See what she's wearing, a ring or any type of jewelery even if it looks cheap and giver her a nice complenet like those earrings look nice on you. Tell her that she has nice hair and her pefume is very pleasant. Then when she ask you questions or start any topics don't lie. Don't say I'm a doctor or lawyer whe you could be a candy machine money collector. Be yourself and sincere. Now if you ook better than Bratt Pitt don't do nothing just look at her and she'll melt like butter. ;D

:star: :star: :star: Be yourself, start with hello how are you, offer to pay for her drink are her meal, whenever you see her let her no you're watching her but not in a stalking way, then ease on in with what is your name, give your name, and go from there. Find out if shes married, single, are dating, where she works send flowers the going thing now are the eatable arrangements. Be a gentalman, I love it when I receive little gifts, notes, a pepsi and a nab. Its the thought that counts...GOOD LUCK

Are you a parking ticket? Cuz you've got "Fine" written all over you!  ;D

Those jeans have some nice back-pockets...  ::)

I know women always say they don't like pick-up lines (they can see it for what it is, etc.), but usually both the guy and the girl know they are corny and won't work... And it actually works in a queer way... The guy offers a cheesy pick-up line, the girl rolls her eyes, but if it's something she hasn't heard before but is told with just the right amount of humor, she may crack a smile at it. Then the guy can just brush it off, saying something like, "yeah I know... those lines never work. Buy hey, I see your glass is empty, can I get you the next round?" Even though the line itself doesn't sweep her off her feet, it does act as an ice-breaker, shows he has a sense of humor, and if he continues being sinsere and talking with her, she may actually go for him.

Women do not like pick up lines! They normally would walk away. Just be yourself and you'll be fine.
