It is hard starting a different job, especially of you have not been specifically trained to the job. I have had 4 different types of careers and have succeeded at everyone of them. Right now I am working from home , so I can take care of my mother, who id disabled.

Every new job has challenges and you'll always have some misgivings about your new co-workers and your new environment.

I am another person who is always nervous beginning a new job.  If you want to think about how to do your best as an employee, I would recommend reading Seth Godin's book Linchpin.  You will probably still be nervous, but it could help your confidence.   I generally walk into a new position with the attitude that I am going to do my best and the results will be what they will be.

It's been some time now but I remember my first days on the new job and I was apprehensive the first the first few weeks but it does go away.

i got a new job and it's a big company and i am scared about starting. i have classmates there, but it's really scary changing fields. makes me scared just thinking about it. i was scared about my second interview too. i'm sure i can do the job. i'll have training for about 3 months. hope everything goes good. orientation is the 20th.

I think it can be hard and scary to start a new job. I watched a video tonight about a lady named Alison Levine on youtube. She told about her experiences on her two trips up Mount Everest. She said that being scared is a normal human reaction, but complacency is deadly.

I wish you the best and recommend you look up that youtube video. Alison Levine at TEDxMidwest

I get scared every time I start a new job. I think that little bit of fear is what pushes a lot of us to do our best. Just keep positive, and you'll make new friends soon to make things even easier. Good luck to everyone starting new jobs!

Oh I know how you feel, but you'll do great. It's just over whelming when you start a new job because you don't know the people and the job you have to do. Once you get the hang of it then you fell a lot better.  :)

I get nervous at first.  That is totally natural.  If it is something that I know what I am doing I am a little less nervous.  Whenever you get hired somewhere just think about the fact that they picked you for this position so they obviously see something in you.
