LOL i have been a housewife for the last 5 years and a stay at home mommy for 4 in a half. I don't know if it it is old fashion or what, but as a housewife and stay at home mom I get the house cleaned during the day. play with my kids do a little fusion cash and have dinner ready or close to being ready when my husband gets home. No i don't meet him at the door with a martini but i think if he is at work all day he deserves to come home to a clean house and have a hot dinner... But my husband will tell you he is a very pampered and spoiled man

Cook meals from scratch, mend clothes, have a vegetable garden, put up jams and jellies, dry fruit, do ALL the laundry, keep the house (hopefully) a little cleaner than when you were working for money...If you have even one kid, then you're busy 24/7. They say "A man's work ends at setting sun. A woman's work is never done."

I haven't worked in almost 4 years and I usually clean the house, take care of the kids, and play around on the computer all day. I cook dinner and try and have it ready by the time hubby comes home too. It gets boring very fast though but I would rather be home with my kids then send them off to someone else all day.

Iam a housewife since 6 years. I do laundry, clean the house, cook food in the morning and evening snacks and again prepare dinner by the time my husband back home. Meanwhile I do Fusioncash, play online games, read newspaper. I dont have kids so not have any work of kids but keep myself occupied whole day with some or other work

I am a housewife.  I just had a child last year and I have been home with her for 12 months.  I am about to lose my mind!!!  I stay home with the kids every time I have one.  My other two children are 12 and 10 years old.  I was the same way with them.  I got really tired of staying home all the time: cooking, cleaning, washing clothes, etc...
Being a housewife is ok for the first few months but I am use to working so I MUST go back to work soon.  She is older now and I mainly stayed home because I breastfeed all my kids.  Good luck to whoever is about to be a housewife.  Just try not to stay home all the time.

I'm not sure I would be called a housewife, because I still work 2 or 3 days a week...however the rest of the time I spend cleaning the house, doing laundry, taking care of my little girl and cooking.

Just realx. If you have children take the time to enjoy them.  Remember, the laundry will be there tomorrow, so will the dishes(just don't make a habit of it) so it is ok to let it slide to finger paint with them or chalk up the side walk. they grow up way to fast.

I have been unemployed for three months so I have been sort of a housewife.  I generally clean, do laundry, watch tv, do some surveys and wait for my husband to get home.  He works second shift so he usually does not eat when he gets home because he ate at work.  Hes a chef so any cooking I do is really, really simple, if I cook at all.

Same thing do laundry, clean up home, do dishes, cook dinner, i have 2 one 4 yr and the other 19 months so, very busy all day, my hubby loves the house clean when he returns home. so, i had to manage within the 8 hrs of doin all the work, feeding my kids is the biggest job for me, if i sit in the computer for 1/2 hr i will have more than 1 hr work of cleaning the house with the mess my kids made... so what more u want....

I am also a stay at home wife.. or as I prefer to call it "Domestic Goddess" LMAO. I quit working when my eldest (who is now 8) was about 4. I originally worked in advertising, but the commute was too much and after I had my son we decided it was better for me to stay at home to raise him rather than someone else.  I also used to work as a nanny for two other children. I did that for about 3 years not too long after he was born. Then I got pregnant with my second (he's going on 4). Been a homemaker since then. I really do like being able to be home for them. My hubby is an Operations Manager and travels over an hour each way to and from work. So this is best for my boys to always have mom around.

I am always busy doing something around here, cooking, cleaning, laundry, bills and errands. Plus, since my youngest is not in school yet I have him all day long. I try to hang out and do puzzles, color, finger paint and all that fun stuff. I also run a Paint Shop Pro group where we teach people how to make their own graphics. Luckily, I have a great staff that helps me out with that. Been running that group for about a year now. It's a lot of fun and we have an awesome group of people. If you guys are ever interested in learning how to make your own graphics and tags (like you see on peoples web pages like MySpace) Just let me know and we would be more than happy to have you join.

Been a rough couple of years for me. Was diagnosed with Breast Cancer the end of 2007. Had a lumpectomy and did chemo and radiation. I guess it was good that I was a stay at home mom at the time. Could not imagine going through all of that with work and kids. But my kids kept me grounded and I am happy to say that so far I am a survivor. Being a stay at home mom now means more to me after going through all of that. I love my boys and have so much fun, even though there are days I look at the clock and go.. Isn't it bed time yet? A mother's job is never done, LOL.

I have been a housewife for the past 5 months.  I watch my kids, bring them to school, try to get them involved in things.  I cook as much as I feel like it.  The only advice I have is that you somehow find time for yourself.  Being around your kids and husband and doing all the ripping and running along with cooking and cleaning can get overwhelming.  Even if it's just a long bubble bath, take time for yourself!!!
