Hi (again)... I posted earlier... I just wanted to throw this in too... A Bee flaps its wings 160 times a second... And by all that's known about them, Bees are not suppose to be able to fly (something about wing-span to body-weigh???
Ahhh... The things we learn on FC...lol

I was probably around 9 or 10. I was walking down stairs to get to my parent's wharf and I stirred up a yellow jacket nest under one of the steps. They flew up and got in my hair. I remember my dad pushing me into the river. I got stung right above my right eye. Luckily I wasn't allergic but it hurt so much. :(

I think most people have, particularly if you work outside around flowers, mow grass, etc.

I have by a wasp when I was a child and that is how I found out I am allergic to them. I try very hard to avoid them(all kinds of bees) at all costs. I've had some of the parents at my younger daughters school think I was weird when I was in the car lane last spring waiting for dismissal and suddenly jumped out and wouldn't go near the car. One of my daughters friends dad came over and asked what was going on. He got it out of the car for me.

Bee stings OUCH.  We had an active hive in the bottom of our porch and i always try to avoid being in their path.  One day when playing with the kids one came and stung me in the face.  All i could think to do was look up on the net how to get stiner and pain out.  Honey takes the sting out and helps with the pain.  But the honey could also attract the bees?  The next day I was at my sons baseball game watching the game and sure enough i got stung again. This time I started getin dizzy, headach and dry throat.  I took anti hystermine and ended up in hospital later that day.  :crybaby2:

Yes, it hurt for a while, and then I felt ok. My hand was swollen for quite some time.

Yes, when I was a kid.  I was walking in the grass barefoot and stepped on a bumble bee and it stung me,  Ouch!  lol

When I was about 6 years old I got stung in the upper lip by bumble bees so bad that my lip swelled up so much that it was touching the tip of my nose. I've been stung many other times in my life but I think that was the worst. I'm not allergic to bee stings.

Yes; I've been stung several times, while picking flowers.... Like someone said, it felt like a hot needle after getting the stinger out.
Now; Why I'm using "hudsonmike09" quote "I've been stung many other times in my life.... I'm not allergic to bee stings."...
Be Careful because what I've heard is you can be stung several times in the past thinking "I'm not allergic to bee stings"...BUT... the next time (or the next) you could end up in the hospital... I had a friend got stung on the neck riding his bike (65 HD), they had to cut-off his helmet his head was the size of 2 basketballs...Yeah, he looked funny but was in the hospital 4 days... He also said (like You & I) "I'm not allergic" but the Dr. said "Ya never know when"...
So any-ol-way, Just Bee (couldn't help myself...lol) Careful..

Thanks for the advise. It really is something to think about although the last time I was stung  was last year and still no allergic reaction, I'll keep my fingers crossed that it stays that way.
