I live in a nice neighborhood but the neighbor next door is so stuffy and mean. She complains about everything!! We live in a cul de sac and there are a few neighbors with young kids that play outside. and she yells at the little kids all the time! It bothers me because sometimes my younger siblings will come inside, sad saying that she yelled at them about something. Im out there sometimes and the kids dont do anything that concerns her at all but she still has something to say and gets very nasty. My parents just keep saying lets try to stay out of her way and not make her mad, maybe she's lonely..blah blah blah. But I so badly want to say something to her! like stfu! lol. ughhh  :bs:
I've never had any problems with neighbors my whole life. My family and siblings are well mannered and respectful. Of course kids will be kids but they know not to go on her lawn or be disrespectful to her.. so I just wish she treated everyone else the same.

Unfortunately, there a lot of those ones around. Avoid or ignore them!

I never had "bad or mean" neighbors, but I had my share of noisy neighbors.  When we decided to buy another house a few years ago I made sure it would not be in a neighborhood.  We all have anywhere from 1 to 2 acres so although I can see their houses I really don't ever see them and I love it!

Guess I am lucky because we have good neighbors.  But when we first moved in the next door neighbor was a crazy wacky wierdo who was drinking most of the time and paranoid of her boy friend so much that she literaly through a jar of applesauce at him, missed him and landed at my son's foot.  I went over and explained that this was so not going to happen again or I would call the police and press charges against her.   Within a couple of months she broke up with her boyfriend and moved away.

I hate to say it but my mom was like that.  She was abused as a child and had severe hormone imbalances, which they didn't understand in the 50's.  She was afraid of everything and everyone.  Nothing and no one could satisfy her.  She made everyone around her miserable.  She would yell at the neighborhood kids to not play on our lawn, then I'd get teased in school by their cousins who were in my class.  She died a miserable, lonely, old woman.   :angry7:

I believe your parents are right.  I wish I could suggest how to reach out to her.  You see it done in the movies, but it's more complicated in real life.  If you have to interact with her be extra nice and polite.  It couldn't hurt to have a witness to vouch for you to others if she accuses you of anything.  It's probably best to just leave her alone in her misery and talk to your siblings about how she's only mean to them because she's got a lot of pain in her life.  Kids can understand more than we give them credit for.   :angel11: :peace:

As for my own neighbors...  I have one with ADHD and other problems who acts like a stalker and asks nosy questions.  I try to avoid him because I don't want to encourage him.  Another neighbor befriended him and he started letting himself into her apartment then would turn things on or off and mess with her computer.   :o  I don't need that.

I envy you guys your neighbors. I had the neighbor from hell! These people were stealing my trash cans when I put out trash. Breaking into my house stealing my clothes, tools, and anything else they could get their hands on. I would come home from work and they would put trash in front of my house. When it snowed they would put their snow deposits in front of my house. They would throw garbage in my yard among other things. Once they sacrificed a dog in front of my house. The other neighbors told me that they were angry because they wanted to buy my house but they didn't want to pay for it. It was a hell that went on for years. I think they were living demons or something. It was the most stress I have ever experienced. They were trying to harass me into selling them my house. It was horrible so you guys that have a nosey neighbor or a crabby neighbor count your blessings. Oh! and did I mention they were into witchcraft as well. So I would find that kind of paraphernalia as well. So kiss your crabby neighbor and thank your nosey neighbor for keeping watch over the neighborhood. It could have been a lot worse. Trust me. :angel11:

My neighbors are awesome. I'm so sorry to hear about others experiences, I just can't imagine living next door or near folks who act like that. Hopefully things improve.

There are people like that everywhere!!  I remember the lady who lived across the street from us when I was growing up would call the police when we got a dog and have it removed.  You have to believe that person is mean when they may have reasons to why they act so cruel.  You have to pray for them.

My brother in-law would do the same thing.  He passed away 2 and a half months ago.  He had his moments and otherwise he was sweet.  My husband said ha has always been hard on kids. :angel11:
