I had a nickname when growing up.  Some of my brothers and sisters and other friends and distant family still call me by my nickname.  I found out some of my distant family never knew my given name because I was given the nickname almost from birth.

My best friend in middle school used to call me Panda Bear b/c my name is Amanda, plus I also have very light skin and almost black/very dark brown eyes. Her family (she passed back in Sept.) still calls me that or Manda Panda to this day

The only person who called me a nickname was my mother who called me pooh bear or pooh because I had a Winnie the Pooh doll that I loved when I was a baby.  I still love Winnie the Pooh and she still calls me that sometimes.  I don't like my name so I always wished I had a cool nickname.

In 9 grade, a group of kids in my bio class used to call me anus, because my name is Anu. I hated it, and still do. They were incedibly unkind children.

I was given a nickname the first day of high school that i couldnt shake.... even to this day i run into people who i went to school with that thought that it was my REAL name.... does anyone else have one?   

If there is enough interest in this thread i might even share my nickname....

I dont know why but my dad called me Pete. I always answered when he said it so it stuck. No one else calls me that though

so i picked up the name "gordie".... 

and to this day alot of people from HS still think it's my name.....

I have 2 nicknames....One is Squirt I got from my parents, and my husband calls me munchkin cause I'm so short....he can't talk cause he's not too much taller then me..haha.  My 2 girls have nicknames...my 3 year old is Puddin, and my soon to be 2 year old is pumpkin......or we call them sh*tbird and Sh*tskie.

I do not have that great of a story. My brother called me Jenn Jenn as a kid and it has kinda stuck. I do not understand why I am called Jenn Jenn, other than the fact that I called him Bubba Bubba.
