What does everybody think about the Gov. shutdown?
It`s funny to me that the Tea Party is being blamed for the whole thing, when actually it`s Obama`s and the senate`s refusal to negotiate that is the true cog in the wheel

Negotiate a law that passed in 2010 and was upheld after 40 unsuccessful attempts at repeal?

I am very nervous about the government shutdown. I am a lower income senior citizen who receives social security, medicare and lived in HUD housing. I am supposed to receive my social security this week. This is also the week that social security might be forced to shut down if a deal is not reached. My stomach is in knots and I do not care who is responsible for the stalemate. Just do it is my motto.  :BangHead:

This is a terrible example for young people.

This... as well as stood up to a constitutional challenge and won.

If someone comes to their house and says "If you give me all your money, your house won't burn down", I want these "Obama won't negotiate" geniuses, once their house burns down, to say "Yeah, it's my own fault 'cause I wouldn't negotiate  :-\"

I'm sorry to hear of your situation and I must agree that it's a ridiculous situation. Congress deservers their +/-5% approval rating.

I think the whole thing is stupid and it doesn't make any sense for them to shut down the government. In the long wrong it is not going to do anything for
anybody. :BangHead:

I'm relieved that a compromise is close...I hope they vote to raise the debt ceiling before tomorrow,, before the govt starts to default!

Just another day in Crazyland. I'm sick of hearing about it. I'm sick of politics. Never thought I would say that. What a big old mess!!!

I feel its real sad that those with such power over others financial matters can not come to an agreement.  I believe if you would put all them in the same situation as those who didn't receive a paycheck I think this would have been resolved long before a shutdown.

i recently lost my job i was at the unemployment office and asked the worker about it. they replied that they were looking foward to the shutdown they needed the time off. it never occurred to them that they may not get called back or they might not get back pay for the time they are off
