My mother was a divorced parent and worked, so my brother and I taught ourselves to cook as we took care of the house.

I tried making chocolate cookies for my Dad when I was about 12.  I didn't have time to cook the dough so my Mom told me to stick it in the fridge.  The dough got so hard I couldn't scoop it out to make cookies.  Dad was a true Pop through it though, he ate the dough chiseling it out of the bowl one bite at a time.   My Mom didn't let me in the kitchen again much after that.  When I was 21 I joined Pampered Chef - and that for 5 years is wear I built my foundation for cooking and entrepreneurship.

I learned to cook from my grandfather at eighteen years of age. I did some cooking before that when my mother showed me but she was not a good cook. My mom did show me how to bake really well. I make everything from scratch. I can't use the premade mixes because to me they don't taste good. I taught my boys how to cook and they cook really well. God bless them. I am now teaching my granddaughter who lives nearby how to cook from scratch. So if I fail her father will fill in.

I'm learning as I go along. Some days it works for me, some days it really, really doesn't. But hey, that's part of the fun?

I started cooking when I was about 8 years old. My mother had to go to work and all of the house work and cooking was left up to me. When I got older and decided that I wanted to pursue a career I decided to go to culinary arts school. I graduated and opened up my own restaurant. I still love to cook and I am always discovering new ways to redo an old recipe. I no longer have my own restaurant due to a very ugly divorce. I had to shut the doors and relocate to another city. I will probably go back into that line of work but for now, I am just content putting good food on the table for my family. :peace:

I learned most of the basics during my childhood. I loved to watch my mother and my aunt cook. Once I started to have children I focused on truly learning my way around the kitchen, and now I am an expert.

I started to cook at around 13 years old, My mom would have me look at her cook, and when she was not home and it was time to eat, I would cook. When I got married a good friend of mine taught me how to cook Mexican food.  I got married with a Mexican so I wanted to learn how to cook Mexican food.
