Between mustard and ketchup, I prefer both sometimes.  The mustard is strong at times.  I found an alternative to mustard:  honey mustard.  It is milder than the regular mustard.  I have to buy ketchup because my hubby and grandson prefers them.  Every now and then, I will use ketchup, especially when I am cooking.  I use ketchup when I make my homemade sloppy joes.     :rainbow:

:confused1: Why are people thinking that mustard is healthier? ???

I think mustard is healthy, but I know as a fact that ketchup is healthy too.  Mustard might be healthier but ketchup is not bad.  They both can be healthy if use with moderation.  Tomatoes is one of the healthier products out there and ketchup is made out of that.

Now for preference I   mustard, is my favorite ingredient when I make sandwich, I can live without mayo and ketchup but not without mustard.  But ketchup is the best for fries, hot dogs and a few other foods.

So for me they both are healthy.

Hmmm...neither.  I think both are really bad for our health but if we have to compare the two...just stay away from anything with high fructose corn syrup.

Ketchup is healthier it contains no fat, low calorie and high in Lycopene that prevents cancer.

I prefer mustard when I eat a hot dog or sausage, for my burgers or cheese steak I would rather have ketchup.

I couldn't tell you which is healthier but I can say that the only mustards I will eat is honey mustard and the brown or Dijon and then that is on a corn beef sandwich. I prefer ketchup.

Mustards healthier because it's just mustard no additives whatsoever. Ketchup's also healthy just not as much because of the additive's but its not really fating either

If a study were done on the two items, I think that mustard would probably prove out as a healthier condiment. However I don't think that either of these items would be determined as 'unhealthy' in normal diets. If either were to be heavily consumed just as any particular food they both would likely cause health issues.
