« on: October 14, 2014, 07:27:08 am »
I like my cell phone and service, but it's nerve recking when i want to
use the internet and i can't pick up a signal at my job.

Is there a  device i can use with my cell to pick up a signal anywhere without it
costing me a arm and a leg, lol.

Probably not. Some providers have better coverage than others. I have Straight Talk, you get unlimited text and talk, and 3.5 gigs of data, which is more than enough for me, for under 50 bucks a month,.

If you can afford it, I suggest upgrading to a phone that allows WiFi calling and data.  With a phone like that, you can connect to any free WiFi hotspot to make calls and surf the web when your cell carrier's signal is weak or non-existent.

If that's not an option, I suggest talking with other people with cell phones in the areas you frequent.  Find out what carriers they are using and what works/doesn't work.  Most likely there is probably a carrier or two in your area that has a stronger signal than others just due to the available towers in the area.  Once you get that short list, switch to one of those carriers.

That's what I did a couple years back - I moved, and the carrier I was using had a dead spot in my new location.  I found from others in the new neighborhood which carriers worked well, and switched to one of them.  Haven't had an issue since...plus I got a phone with WiFi - that really helped!

As for signals, I personally don't have any issues but I do know of others who have issues even in their own homes and yes, that can be extremely frustrating.

Are you suppose to be using your cell phone when you are working?  Maybe they have a device that blocks use of cell phones during work hours? lol

I use my cell at break and lunch time only. It's most likely my carrier.

So far I haven't seen any free internet other then wifi.

Data runs out very fast on you if you play video or or buffer internet music.

Even if a cell phone company claims to have 95, 99 percent coverage in the USA you can still have trouble getting service in certain indoor buildings and there can also be mini dead zones hear and there nor really counted as a non service area.

Depends on your Phone provider and their range of service... Usually Verizon has the best phone coverage
