I have a Dyson and love it.  It picks up pet hair in one sweep.  I know they are expensive but they seem to last forever.

I have a Bissell and it works quite well except right now it's stopped up so I have to take it apart so it will work right again.

I use Bissell everything - the vacuum, the carpet cleaning machine, the spot cleaning machine.  Never been disappointed.

I have a Sears Kenmore vacuum cleaner and it works pretty well. We have also had it for over 10 years and it has never broken down or anything. You do have to keep buying bags to fit it, though.

I have a Bissell vaccum & the carpet cleaning machine, both work great.  I also have a heavy duty Craftsman shop vac which I love...and a Shark steamer (for floor & the hand held) which I can't live without!

I have an old Hoover 11.5 I bought at a yard sale for $10 which works well  but because of what I thought was allergies, I bought a Eureka Maxima. The screw to hold the handle to the deck was missing, and I was waiting about 6 years for hubs to get a screw for it.

I guess it was easier to buy another vacuum because he gave me a Bissell Pet Turbo with all the extra parts. I'm not crazy about it because it's very inconvenient to empty the container and clean the filter.

As for steam mops, I bought a canister one about 6 years ago that would do walls, counters, etc. besides floors, but the first time I used it, it gave off such a "musty" smell, it was put away and I never used it again. Hubs bought me a Bissell 2 years ago and it's okay...but if I had my druthers, i'd rather a Shark. A friend has one and she loves it.
